Any ideas for pedalboard not requiring tape, velcro, etc.?

I got back into stomp boxes a few years ago and although I don't have a huge collection, I have enough that I'd like to set them up in an organized way and have them all connected.

I have a bunch of Keeley pedals I got from Rob and since he is a close friend, I don't want to mark any of them up with tape or anything. I had him sign the back of my D&M pedal and especially don't want to scuff that one up. I have a small Gator pedal board I've never used and is just sitting there basically.

Is there some type of cheap pedal board that just has an area to set pedals on that doesn't require tape? I've never used one before so not really too familiar with different types of boards, etc. I've got about 8 pedals but some are not the typical size and are a bit bulky.

Any help would be appreciated. I don't need anything fancy so keeping it cheap would be nice. Just need something where I can have a power supply, wires out of the way, etc. I'm new at this and probably sound like a Cro-Mag. LOL! Thanks!

Some people use chain links (one end using the pedal bottom cover screws, the other end screwed to the board. Some make boards where straps hold the pedals in place.

I went through the same thing last year. I had a homemade one, but wanted something different. I went with Temple Audio, see my build tread below. I used zip ties to hold things in place. It works great for holding things in place, but takes a little extra effort to move things around than velcro does.

This was the Duo24 (24 inches), but I grew out of that and just replaced it with a Duo34 (34 inches).

Thanks guys! I don't gig or would be moving them around so I definitely have more options as far as setup, etc. I just don't want to lay them across the floor, etc.

Oh yeah, the zip ties!! I get it now. People were talking about zip ties before but I couldn't picture how that would work. Makes sense now. Thanks!

Another idea is to just buy blank bottoms from somewhere like Mammoth, Pedal Parts Plus, etc. Just figure out which Hammond casing you've got, and order up a blank bottom - velcro it up as needed, while protecting the original.

Zip ties are great for gigging boards. It's much harder for some would-be thief to grab a pedal and go than with velcro. However, they do wear the paint of the pedal. It probably wouldn't be too bad for a huge board, but if you really want to keep it immaculate I'd probably do something else.

Those little pedalboots are pretty cool.

The other thing you can do is to replace the machine screws in the bottom plate with longer ones through the pedal board. Use washers on either side of the board to keep things secure. Put some material between the bottom of the pedal and the board to protect it and you're good to go. It takes a little planning to get the holes correctly drilled through the board, but otherwise is pretty simple. Btw, the screws in the bottom plate are standard machine screws. You can find what you need at any hardware store.

Something like the SKB powered pedalboard might be perfect:

I use velcro zip ties and so far so good. I bought some really big long ones from Amazon and cut them in half the long way so more like an actual zip tie. And I know it looks weird but I hang my board when i'm not using it so it holds up to that daily
