Any NAMM News on the New Egnater Stuff...Like modular amps?

I too am waiting . . . lurking . . . hoping to hear something . . . something besides a couple of pedals and an iso-cab. :gethim:

I've never been to NAMM. Do companies usually announce their "big stuff" on the first day, or do they save those big announcements for later in the event? I would guess they'd want to put it out there sooner rather than later, so they can get the buzz going around their booth; but that's just pure speculation . . .

The companies have all the new stuff out at the start for all to see...

While I'll go ahead and say 'it's only Friday morning and they haven't even opened up for Day 2 yet', I hope this isn't all they're going to be introducing.
That being said, I'm eager to hear what this thing sounds like; very cool that you can put the boost before or after the OD (I'd set it BEFORE). If it's an SL or SL2 in a stompbox, it'll sell nicely. And if that's the case, the Holy Driver might be an EG5? One can only hope.
One things for sure, being an Egnater, it's liable to be not lacking in the midrange section. ;)

Seriously - do you think whatever pedals they're going to put out are NOT going to sound VERY good at the very least? Considering they've been amp builders first and foremost, they have to know that any PEDAL they put out is going to be put under a lot of scrutiny. Not to mention, there's a lot of competition out there in the pedal-making world, boutique or otherwise, so they'd have to put out something either A) very unique or B) REALLY good. They're obviously going after the non-Egnater amp players, so good for them.

I think they could have done a large-box high-voltage tube-based pedal if they wanted to, but I'm willing to give the Overdose and Holy Driver a go.

The modular stuff, 1 space power amp, and E2 have been shelved for a while. I don't see it happening. I think a big part of the issue is where to go from here? They did a nice job of covering the big players (Fender, Marshall, Vox, Mesa) and now that Salvation, JF, Gigmods, etc have covered nearly all of the rest, it doesn't leave much incentive. The modular series is essentially 3 different circuits with varying values. They covered a ton of ground with that alone. New circuit designs with more features seems like the next logical evolutionary step.

If you're referring to manufacturing the mod series in China, I frankly would hate to see it happen. There are enough "my egnater doesn't work" threads IMO. Then again, it would bring the line to a bigger market and potentially revitalize it. Definitely give and take.

Egnater has released a lot of new stuff in recent years. I am not so sure that it would be bad for them to slow down a bit and catch their breath a bit. Poor Nate is overworked enough!

I'm not doubting you, but you didn't mention who or where you heard this from. Could you elaborate?

I simply mean that all of this has been talked about since Hilly was still with the company. Bruce and Ian have dropped hints that they are working on it. I'm not basing my comments on anything other than common knowledge and simple logic. When I say I don't see it happening I mean right now at NAMM, not ever.

man, let the company breathe.....they've given us SO MUCH new shit lately.

the pedals are awesome.

I was there setting up a couple other booths Tue and Wed and stayed Thursday for the first day of the show. Stopped by the Egnater booth and no modular stuff in sight. All the GC stuff, the new pedals, Armegeddon and the HG versions of the Tourmaster etc. It's been obvious that their focus is not on the modular stuff and who knows if it will ever be. From a biz perspective it's the right move...sell lots more product due to price range and being in GC and the like. Of course we all hate the fact that the modular line has pretty much been abandoned. Even Randall didn't have any new modular stuff except for the Scott Ian head and modules.

Thanks for the update mudrock..... shoot..

Just because there's not much support doesn't give me any reason to shitcan my MTS amps... They are amazing with all the custom mods I have had done... I don't know of any other amp that can get Dumble, Orange, Marshall, Vox, Hot rodded Marshall and Fender tones all in one amp... And I'm talking about boutique tones that rival any amp made today

They've changed the Tourmaster? An "HG version of the Tourmaster"? What was that about? What is that?

I talked to Ian at the show. What he said was that Randall will be phasing out their modular line.
Then after Randall sells off their existing stock, Egnater will do a major modular announcement,
including the E2 and some other modular products. Maybe 2nd half of this year, but he didn't want
to commit to any dates.
Reading between the lines, I'm guessing that there may have been some non-compete issues
between Randall and Egnater.

Also, the Tourmaster HG series are higher gain/metal oriented versions of the Tourmasters in a black color,
not phasing out regular Tourmasters.

Many Many Thanks Rockbridge.... That's really helpful information. Now it all makes sense .... Certainly worth waiting for.....

Seriously worth waiting for if this all comes to life.
(and man, gonna have to check out that high-gain Tourmaster!)
