Any news of Cameron lately?

This is very true. Even though it seems most ccv owners are ‘80’s guys, I see the ccv’s real forte as being for more modern styles of metal and it also has one of the better clean channels I’ve heard in multi channel amps. One of my friends has a ccv and 3 Cameron modded Marshall’s and he’s a tech-death player. He plays very heavy, modern and fast, technical stuff and imo the Cameron’s sound way better for what he does with them than when I hear ‘80’s guys like Rockinchippy do their thing on them. I have nothing against Rockinchippy btw. I’ve met him and he was very nice and friendly, but just think his approach to gear and demos is not good

I’ve owned 4 Friedman’s (Butterslax, Phil X, 2 modded Marshall’s) and have tried all their models except the new Jake E Lee and Twin Sister and none of them sounded anywhere near as good to me as the Cameron’s I’ve had and I’ve done plenty of AB comparisons. In the comparisons I’ve done it sounds like they’re both going for the same thing basically soundwise, but the Friedman’s miss the mark in comparison. At least to my ears

Wouldn't happen to be Mike from Circuit of Sun's would it?

That’s a different amp than I sold him. Mine was a Golub
I owned 2 Golub SE mods. Both were killer and one sounded spot on to an early Cameron Aldrich I had...the Cameron had a white hs and was supposedly an early 90s version, one of his first. Only issue with the Golub was its looseness...it needed a 'slight' bump from my eq pedal to tighten just a little.
Great tones outta that amp tho.

Agreed, they are a little tubby and probably why I sold it

Hmm??...These threads are always good for wasting some time if bored...I was bored.. lol! ;)

Haha, small world. Mike's a sweetheart. Been following him on IG for a bit and went to a Circuit show in late 2019. Killer right hand and blistering tone.
Haha yeah he looks kinda tough, but then you talk to him and he’s the nicest guy. We also follow each other on IG and I’ve been to 2 of his shows in 2017. I’m not sure if I know of anyone else who can alternate pick as fast as him even on YouTube

Not sure about that, we had an amp fest years back and a forum member here brought up his original Mark made CCV and I had the Brad CCV, everyone that was there said the sounded exactly alike, actually the Brad one had more gain on tap. I had a bunch of CCV’s Brad and Marks and liked the Brad one better!
The superfunny ass truth is
these pre-whatevers?
You sure Mark built them?
How about the mexicano' woman who did
did a lot of "soldering"??
Or Kurt built a few?
What about that Dali Surreal guy?
Oh, how's the loop in those shitbox original CCV'S?
Like there's some unattainable mixture of magic greatness in there...
Nick, you are ON POINT.
I hope you're good man, I appreciate you
not making up the truth?

When it comes to Kameroon nobody is sure of anything except he makes your money & amps disappear with nothing in return.

it really doesn’t matter who built them. Bogner and Friedman don’t populate most of their production boards. I will say this though. The one off component values are something that’s been consistent even from Mark’s modding days. You would think if they were 100% built by someone other than Mark, such as those listed, why the variation in components. Ghost builders would typically stick to the script, would they not?

the true conspiracy theorist would postulate they were just grabbing out of the bucket whatever parts happened to be purchased most cheaply that week

That would be Mark’s MO since we can speculate that organization, planning, and execution are not his greatest traits. I m pretty sure that Kurt, Surreal or other competent tech or even advanced hobbyist wouldn’t use what’s called for. Perhaps they did a lot of the population of the board, but from what I’ve seen there was customization on many of the one offs that had Marks quirky habits in the circuit.

I have a Cameron white headshell. This amp has seen Friedman's, Slo's and Wizard's come and go...

Does it "split the atom" or just do the 800 thing with exaggerated treble/bass/gain ?
Im guessing you're going to say "its the best amp you've ever played" and "has feel".

For me it's a great amp, nothing more nothing less. The Friedman BE, Slo and Wizard are fantastic amps and I'm sure at some point I'll check them out again (really want to try a Wizard MC25). With so many other great amps out there I don't see Cameron as the end all to be all, but in the same breath I will not be selling or trading this amp. The Cameron is like a comfortable pair of shoes. It just works for me. Plus I absolutely dig the naturally relic'd white tolex!

wish i knew when my cameron was getting here, was supposed to be here christmas eve.. then the 29th.. now tracking just says delayed and wait for an update. cant wait to experience this magic
