Anybody have a particular song that always gets them to pick up the guitar?

One of the better instrumental rock performances of all time.

Not sure what compelled me to learn this song as soon as the movie was over. Katherine Zeta Jones maybe? Beautiful song and harder than I thought it would be.

Death - Symbolic, Crystal Moutain, Zero Tolerance

Tool - Stinkfist, Swamp Song

Lamb of God - Ashes of the Wake, Blood of the Scribe
You don’t fuck around dude.
A man could get FiRED UP with that recipe.

You ever see the film “Body Double”?

Pretty much any older Zakk Wylde, a shitload of AIC, Vai’s “Erotic Nightmares”, “Bad Horsie” and “Tender Surrender”, pretty much anything Gilmour ever played, a shitload of Pantera, a bunch of Killswitch riffs usually fire me up as well.

Mastodon’s “More Than I Could Chew” is a fucking banger and that main riff makes you feel like a giant stomping all over villagers or some shit.

Mastodon - Colony of Birchmen
Acid Bath - Pagan Love Song
High on Fire - Snakes for the Divine
Opeth - Demon of the Fall
The Smiths - This Charming Man...(Hey, it takes all kinds ya know)

So many, but something that makes me want to pick up the guitar is Yngwie. Can’t play any of his songs all the way through, but definitely gets me in the mood to play.

Any piece of music; I just love improvising over the top of it!

i just aired guitar'd this whole song and didnt miss a note and it made me think of this thread
