Anybody mixing Diezels with Rectifiers?

I experimented with running my Mesa Dual Rectifier with JJ KT88s alongside my SED EL34 loaded Einstein, into a Framus stereo cab loaded with v30s.

The results were, erm, crushing.

I had to sell the Mesa but it was fun when it lasted. The Einstein destroys the Recto tonally, but there was a certain kick that the Recto has but the Einie doesn't. I had the Einstein serviced, and what I noticed was that the Mesa on it's own felt a bit mushy in comparison...

EDIT: the amps EQ curves compliment each other. The Einie is Marshallesque in the way that it sits primarily in the middle, the Recto had more focus on the top & bottom.

We are two guitarists in our band. He is using a stereo setup. One Rectifier and one Roadster. But i have some problems to cut in the mix. But i think it´s my Marshall cab. After the Frankfurt fair I´m gonna buy a new Diezel cab. I hope this can solve my problems.
I had the same problem when I tried to play my VH4 with a Marshall cab. It didn`t cut through the mix even when it was very loud. With the Diezel cab, there`s no problem

Call me crazy, but I'm really starting to want a rectifier lately to run with Diezels, to give the riffs more hammer like effect.

Tell me about your experiences running them together.

I do it all the time, in my Axe FX. But I prefer JCM800 with Diezel.

Metallica mixed VH4's with Racktifiers and Tri Axises from 2003-2008.

i think for tight and heavy the recto series are just too loose to mix with the diezels.

my favorite combo is diezel and splawn quickrod

I like the VHT CLX with the Herbert, and I also liked the revision blue uber with it to.

Ever listen to Alterbridge.? Therein lies your answer. Miles Kennedy has GREAT tone. Check out his video on youtube about it. Just google his name and add the word rig to it
Lemme know what you think.

I googled it. Cool sound, but not what I'm after. But then, who knows, it might sound just right in my hands.

I'm going for really heavy & really tight sound.

Heavy AND Tight are not two words that coexist with a Recto...the Mesa oxymoron

I'm gonna go with a Soldano

That said 90% of what I use now is a single Diezel Herbert & the other 10% Herbert mixed with a VH4.

Some of my favorite riffage tones I have had have ben with a VH4 and Uberschall combined. Another great combination is a Herbert/Makoplex

Yea, I'm over that one already. It's a great combination, but it's not tight enough for what I'm looking for & I'm not into amps with that type of midrange anymore.

I also got great tones with the VHT UL w/EQ boosted along with a VH4 or Herbert. Hell, I ahve had wonderful results running the Einstein with the VH4 as well.
