When Mercyful Fate can out, they so blew away all the other bands at the time it was pathetic. Slayer, Megadeth and Metallica weren't even invented yet. The best was Iron Maiden, DIO, Judas Priest stuff like that and then we heard Mercyful Fate and went "WTF?, now this is the shit!"

I'm so happy to see that another generation will experience KD!

Slayer and Mercyful fate were both founded in 1981. Metallica in 1980. Debut albums came out in 1983. Perhaps you are referring to “the nuns have no fun” EP, but that was hard to come by and the other bands had demo’s out. Mind blowing when it was released, but Fate has never been thrash metal.

King mentioned the last few years he gave up smoking and drinking, the new regime has made his voice "better than ever". And it shows, there is very little straining on his voice on the high notes, and the female BU vocalist is wayyyy cooler than running all the harmonies on the backing track.

It does sound they are running to a click however? Not a bad thing... just means there may be some stuff running on the backing track. Also doesn't seem like there are over dubs... must of just been a great performance. Tight AF!

Guitars sound great, wonder what the rig was

He had a heart attack and nearly died. Had triple bypass, then married a 26 year old. He's now 62, and she's 34. I think he just had a baby in like 2017.
The healing power of good poon

His wife is Livia Zita, and she’s also his backup singer in the video.

What, he's 62? and still crushing those vocals?? Uh OH..what's Paul stanley's excuse then for using backing tracks? Probably that he whored out his own voice so much that it gave out. Anything for money when KISS is involved!

I take issue with the audio release of this, only because of the extreme low volume. My car stereo only goes so high and i need to crank King.

Watched both shows streaming. While the are nearly identical performance-wise, the intimacy of the PA show definitely works better.

I have seen KD/MF more times than any other band in my life. From '87 till about 2000-something. Towards the end of my run, he was losing it. Just bad shows and bad vocals. His health issues really pulled him out and i'm so stoked on it.

My buddy, after watching these shows, asked me what was wrong with Andy. He seems stiff and not all that excited. I had to remind him that he looked the same in 1987 on stage. Andy is more into what he is doing than running around. He's always looked stiff. This is why he's my hero. He only cares what you hear out of his guitar.

Mike Wead is great. I think he did a mighty fine job. Don't know what y'all are going on about. There was only one solo he did where i was like... nice try.

Ive seen KD/ MF many times, including this last tour. His vocals were great this last time and the Blueray is a good representation of what I saw/heard. Only disappoint ment this last time was that I was 1st row in front of Mike, he was great but I m a Andy fanboy.

I feel the audio is "live", but an amalgam of several nights cherrypicked for the best performance. Since King did the production himself the performances were picked from a vocal viewpoint vs a guitar performance one. That said I have No issue with Mike or Andy's work.

Only issue I do have is that I "hate" seeng Andy playing Deans. Fuggly ass headstocks on the strats styles and the old V' style on the flying 'V' just annoys me. I just realky loved the RR1 he used to play in the mid '80s. Thats why I bought mine just to play some Rany and KD. Now that I got that off my chest

Click track, yeah they are playing to click primarily because they dont have a keyboard player live anymore. I always prefer 'live' instruments for the flexability, but I understand the reaso s for going the sequenced route.

Lastly, I am really impressed by the BU vocalist. There are a number of times that you hear her solo and the timbre of her voice mimics King s o well. My wifes a trained soprano and she struggles to match the texture of Kings voice even though she can sing in his upper range.

Overall, im just glad others are still enjoying MF/KD as much I do. Hail Satan :D
