How are they? I'm really digging the Classics more than I thought I would. I think I may actually prefer them to Moderns.

Either way, the WA-bridge is based around the Duncan Distortion, isn't it? How does Voice 1 compare to Voice 2 on the Classics? And how does Voice 2 compare to Voice 1 on the Moderns?

Tell me about them, please!

Thanks.

I thought the new Lamb Of God album sounds like they are using actives?? Seems like I may be right about that. Didn't know Adler had a signature set of pickups.

I had 2 sets. Both had phasing issues. Eventually gave up. Fishman did get it right the 3rd time but I was tired of all the hassle.

What kind of phasing issues? Was the neck pickup out of phase with the bridge?

I actually noticed the phase seems to be flipped from the Classic set compared to the Modern set I have.

I'd like to try the Merrow set. It seems to be a "modern" PAF sound. I have a guitar with 81/85 and a ground wire, so it should be plug n play if I only want voice 1.

To me that's sort of what the Fluence Classic is. I put the Fluence Classic and Single-Width pickups in my Warmoth build and they are pretty damn cool for sure

It is plug and play, for sure. I was getting fussy with actives and wanted to dislike my fluence moderns and swapped with an EMG 81. Took me 5 minutes. Quickly realized that the 81 has no dynamics and is muddy in comparison.

Moderns have some odd artifacts with the pick attack but other than that, I like them a lot

The Classics are sort of a standard PAF sound in Voice 1 and a "Hot Rod" (JB-ish) sound in Voice 2. I wouldn't call them modern-sounding. I love them, but they've got an old-school kinda grind under high gain.

Can they do metal? Absolutely, but it's more of an old-school kinda Arch Enemy-ish vibe rather than something super clinical.

I've got the Devin Townsend set and that's exactly how I described the Classic setting. It feels exactly the same as the Dimarzio PAF's did in my JEM's back in the 90's. Switching to Modern is nearly identical to adding a boost to an amp, like an 808 in front of a Mesa/Peavey.

Ended up finding another cheap set of Classics. I still want to try the Will Adlers, though.

My new 7 string has a set of Fluences in it. LOVE THEM!

I know this is an old thread but I put them into my EC1000T CTM and they sound awesome!

The Adlers are my favorite out of all the Fishmans Ive tried. Just a great aggressive voicing without any weird frequency bumps.
