Change of amps so change of board. Pulling everything off this weekend and re arranging the board , means more zip ties . Fwiw I hate re wiring pedal boards haha ?

I hate it . I also hate working on my guitars and amps period lol . I enjoy practicing and playing that’s it

Yup, a few years ago I got the bright idea to make a board so I can run 3 amps at once (2 of em have effects loops) now I have to use a fucking diagram if I wanna move a pedal or add a new one.

I’ve grown to hate restringing my guitars with a passion. I like fresh new strings so I’m constantly changing strings.

It's a pain in the ass to do, especially when you get a new amp. I've had to do two of them this summer and at this point, I really do not want to do it again. It's not difficult work because I have it down to a system of how I put everything together. However, I've done this quite a few times over the years switching back and forth and I believe now I am at the point where doing it again would make me not want to play using one.

I hate fucking with the set ups on anything except hardtail bridges. I have a kahler on my sykes and I'm going to have my bud do it hopefully....

Gotta get juggernaut in this thread. He is in the middle of a redesign right now.
I'd tell his story but I can't stop laughing long enough to do it justice.
He texted me a video this morning that was so funny I had to call him right away.

I feel like every time I buy a pedal I have to rebuild the board.

Yep hate changing stuff on my pedalboard. I also dislike very much changing strings. Now I usually leave strings on for a yr or more.

Before yeah, I’d have conniptions and flick pedals over and somehow have a hope that fixes it and
that I didn’t chip anything.
Nowadays, I appreciate setting the time aside to keep things on point.
At 50, everything’s kinda’ a pain in the ass but I don’t like payin’ dude’s anymore, is anybody really worth it anymore?
I was imagining the future of guitars..,
with laser strings..any pick-up you want and you can sync it with a Moog-like drum sequencer.

I’m f’n series man, us cavemen are a dying breed
and unfortunately on the flat-end of the evolutionary scale since humans created the electric guitar & amplifier’s with valves.
Where’s Leo or Jim?,

-Where’s Axl??-

I got annoyed with my last pedalboard, I’d spend a bunch of time getting everything laid out right, making custom length signal and power cables, and then when I wanted to change something (which was all the time) it always became a mess. I tried to avoid Velcro for a long time, and used zip ties. What a headache.

but most of all I got sick of dealing with pedals with shitty buffers, clipping buffers with other loud boosts, trying to work in a loop switcher or two to avoid having 5 buffers in a row. I finally just made a pedalboard with an integrated loop switcher, and laid it out with hidden cables/wires and enough slack/room that I can swap pedals around easily. Now I just have my favourites of the moment on the board and change it whenever.

It’s all boosts and drives since the only other effects i use are reverb and delay and I have a rack processor for that. And every amp/guitar combo has its own favorite boost.

I don’t play out so it’s just a home board.

I absolutely swear by the loop switcher system now that I finally have one. So, so much better than running everything in a single chain. Also have a pair of loops in the switcher that feed the FX loop of my amp, so time based effects stay in their lane.

Honestly, that's why I just ended up spending a the extra money and got a fractal FX8. I am not a huge effects guy to start with, but when I do need it, it's all in there.

I know it's a while different game compared to seperate pedals on a board. But I did the whole pedal board thing, wiring, rearranging, trying different pedals. Got to spend way too much time doing all that.

Cheers

the last iteration I decided i was going to do it right. soldered my own cables with the flat squarjacks, wanted to make it look nice. 3/4 of the way in i was like "fuck this, i'm going to change this thing 3 times before the 2nd gig" lol

best I can hope for is making short leads and wrapping everything up neatly underneath with cable ties. it's annoying.

I did a pedalboard redesign a couple years ago and it was laborious. Recently it has started giving me troubles and noise and cutting out etc. SO I redid it again with all new board etc just last week. It seems like I am redoing my board every couple years. It is a pain in the ass to be sure and I do not get excited about it like I used to. I am hoping that this version will be simple enough and not give me hassles. There is really only 3 pedals in front and 2 in the loop. Power supply is probably overkill but it is the only one I got. Big heavy Gator board. Plenty of room on the board so hopefully this is it for a long time. I do not use that many effects really.
