I'm curious about these. Any owners or former owners around? Curious about the HG 100 and the IS 50 (old model).

Any info appreciated!

Thanks,

Josh

I had a custom 40... well built, great tones/feel, but too loud for my condo...

PLayed an HG100 and Custom 30, I liked them way more than the Splawn QR that was in the same room at the time.

That Custom 30 was hanging with the QR volume wise as well, Doug's amps are stupid loud.

This is what I was looking for :D The QR is kind of my benchmark when it comes to hot rodded Marshall sounds.

Was the feel similar to the QR?

I have to state right now before the Splawnites show up, I am not a fan of the voicing with any of Scott's amps so my 2 cents may not be the best for you :D

Going from memory I believe the QR was a tad more forgiving but to be honest we had boosts on everything that night :D

I had an HG100 for a while...killer amp for sure!!!

Had two. Had a custom 40 and 30. Liked the 40 better. Both bilt very very well and Doug was great to deal with. If I ever get back into have a stable of amps a custom 80 or Janelle 80/100 will definately be one of them. Awesome amps!

FWIW I believe Doug lives in Brea, maybe you can give him a call and test out some of his amps or something :)

Crossed my mind :D

Had an HG100. Like others who commented here, the build was phenomenal, and it was loud as hell. Unfortunately, you can't turn it down with an attenuator. I've heard that nullifies the warranty.

If you can crank it, it's amazing!

Plus, Doug is cool as hell, he posts a lot on HC. Funny cat, good guitar player too.
