Anyone have or had a TOL? How do they compare to Bogners?

I just purchased Steve's Egnater TOL (TOS), and I can't wait to get it. I've owned a few TOL's over the years, and really wished there was a little more gain in channels 3 and 4. Needless to say, I'm pumped up and will post more feedback here when I receive it.

I like how the 4 channels are voiced on the IE-4...it is like stepping through 4 different gain stages of the same amp. When playing live, I don't really care so much whether it sounds exactly like a Vox, a Deluxe, or a Marshall and in fact switching between those modules on the M4 in the middle of a song can be a bit jarring.

very good point. all of these "options" in modern guitar rigs drive us further away from a singular tone identity and personality, ala hendrix, van halen, yngwie, roben ford, etc. who relied on one great amp and fixed effects to forge a name for themselves.

so if you are in the market to become the next hero, stick to one amp/tone. if you're in a cover situation, go eggie!
