Im curious how this thing is doing with other amps. I am purposely staying away from the store because it will be veryhard for me not to walk out with one. Betting a JVM and this 4x12 would be an awesome halfstack.

Guys on HRI said the speakers sound basically like Greenbacks.

EVH is leading people to believe that it's some sort of special speakers loaded in the Cab but rumor has it that they are loaded with heritage Greenbacks with the EVH logo on the back.

I need to do more research on the greenbacks so I know what the differences are. That said, that cabinet sounded fucking killer. Im wondering how much difference would be heard between those speakers and say, normal greens that you could get from Avatar?

Yes im fucking jonesing for that sound. Wonder how greens/Hgreens woudl sound with a XXX head with 6L6's.

You can get the Heritage greens from Avatar, but they're like $650 for a quad! :aww:

There is a huge differance in tone between the Heritage series Greenbacks and the standard Greenbacks. The Heritage greenies sound very much like the original greenbacks whereas the standards, although a good sounding speaker, are not as close...well not close at all IMHO. They have there own thing going on andthey don't sound as rich/ creamy as the Heritages/originals.

Sheet!! I guess now the question is, is the EVH cab worth the dough, or just order and Avatar Vintage loaded with these speakers a better bet. Ugh, my head hurts lol.

And these are 20Watt Speakers? I have a feeling they won't last to long with any head cranked for very long if at all.

Sound more and more like im destined to buy the EVHIII cab

So which cab is built better...the Marshall VM or 5150III??? Seems to me the cheapest way to get them is to buy a whole cab unless you are going to load one that you already have.

The VM has the same speakers right?

I dunno. I do know that there is a EVH instock within 3 miles of where Im sitting at the moment.

edit: the VM is loaded with G12C's which are 25watt speakers, so no not the same speakers.

You can get the 20 watters from avatar and have them put it in a cab for you (Like Rufus mentioned!_)
It will be a cheaper the the EVH cab for sure.

The VM cabs have yet ANOTHER greenback clone that was added to the arsinal.

To answer your question, you would have to be careful with the 20 watters but the wont blow up unless you abused the crap out of them by diming an amp that peaks over 100 watts.

Ah....Yeah now I remember about the VM GBs.

Who are you kidding about blowing up speakers Randy ya family man   Who you think you are..... Telephant?!?!?!? :D

Ralph you are the fucking man!! :D

Sounds like I should hear the VM cab also before I make a choice. I noticed there is no list price one the EVH stuff. What gives? Are they doing some deal where dealers can only sell this stuff at MAP or they get their sacks chopped off?

Scott, the only reason my custom 4x12 hasn't blown up yet is because it has 4 200watt speakers in it bro. When I get all fired up I could give 12step a damn good run for his money volumewise and probably send him home deaf to boot

Just so you know, the Heritage 20W speakers are really 25W as well, they just have the sticker that says 20W becasue that is the way the old label looked. This has been confirmed by Celestion.

Thanks for the info bro
