Anyone into Gojira?

You just heard of them? Haha they’ve been around for YEARS! Better late than never!! New track is killer!

Check out their way early stuff for more of a death metal vibe (Terra Incognita).

One of my faves is From Mars to Sirius. That’s closer to how they sound now. Flying Whales is me fave track.

I like them in small doses. Cool stuff, but they get a bit repetitive.

Huge fan, I enjoy all of their stuff and appreciate it for what it is. They have went in various directions over the years a bit but I still like all their stuff. They are incredible live.

Originally saw them with lamb of God and trivium at a small venue in Kansas city early in their career. They were getting airplay on liquid metal, which is where first I heard them. Being a up-tempo(read as fast)thrash dude,I wasn't that into them and that still kinda persisted as they progressed. But both Jose Mangin from Sirius and juggernaut mike have hammered Gojira into my head enough that I have come around to them this last couple of years.

Full disclosure,I'm am pretty picky about what I will devote my "fandom" as far as music goes. Slower, plodding metal songs just don't excite me the way fast/blistering driving metal does. Was never into Sabbath or doom or the Down type of metal. And I still don't have a CD chock full of Gojira because this type of metal just doesn't give me what I crave like the new young generation of thrash type bands do. But Gojira does have something unique going on. They are kinda like that stinky cheese that France is famous for...yeah,I'll take a little bite now and then. But I would prefer the slab of crispy bacon that is thrash giving me the "meat sweats" and running rampant though my digestive system.

Saw them Aug 2019 at First Ave in Minneapolis. Amazing show!! It was their night off from their tour opening for Slipknot. So they played First Ave - just them, no opener. Never seen the place so packed!

I saw them on that tour at Stubbs BBQ in Austin... also included Machine Head. Couldn’t ask for a better show with 3 of my favorite bands (not Trivium, lol).

Oh yeah,Machine Head was at my show too. They were killer. I was super stoked to see L.O.G. and Machine Head. Had a great time that night.

I like them, just don't really love them.

I will say, though, they always have KILLER recorded tones.

I also saw that tour in Dallas. Gojira blew away every other band on the bill lol

I find they’re so repetitive I’ve never bought anything after Mars to Sirius. Every time something knew would come out there was nothing compelling about it and I felt they had lost something after that album. They’re live vids are cool and their talent is inarguable but their sameness over the years has surprised me.

Another World better...:banhim:...J/K

Ocean Planet is great. I've been spinning From Mars to Sirius this week.
From Mars to Sirius is a masterpiece. Love that album but can't quite get into any of there other albums with the exception of the occassional song here and there.

Oh man that would've been amazing!! I saw them around that time down in Lincoln, NE when they opened for Slipknot. Will be seeing them up in the cities this summer hopefully with Deftones though.
