Anyone know anything about Science Amps?

Hey all,

Does anyone know anything about science amps? Based on what I have heard it does not sound like something that's for the stuff I play, but I was just curious to know about other people's feedback on them.
 
One of my local guitar buddies has a Science Decolonizer. [from what I recall from a few years ago] To me it sounds like a JMP with an enhanced boomy bottom end. It sounds huge.

Find "Matt" on Guitar Gear Forum and hit him up about it.

Having also played this exact amp, I can confirm it fucks
 
Someone offered me a mother in a trade but I don’t know anything about it and clips are limited.
 
Matt's is the only one I've ever played or heard but I remember it being kind of like a cross between a marshall and an orange. Fat sounding with plenty of gain

Because of the video where they mentioned him I’ve always wanted to try one. A lot of their products seemed like basically noise machines. Not traditional amps.
 
Best fuzz nasty stoner amp . Literally awesome af if you want that . I listen to stoner shit but don’t play it . But often thought to get one just to fuck around with that sound . My student is into this stuff and I was impressed with Science for its fuzz.

His description reads that it’s for home playing and recording; sounds like ‘amp about to blow up’ type tone. Gotta use a fan to cool it. Be interesting to try one lol

Exactly this. Marshall x Orange.

He brought it to the Pickle Palace? I remember hearing him jam on it at his house a couple times, but didn't remember it being at the GABfest

Also, there were a couple amps at Pickle's that I don't think got touched at all - Bogner 101b and my Friedman modded Jet City. Everything that Tom brought though, just brought the house fucking DOWN. Redback cab, powered sub . . . jeezus.

Tom's H&K Coreblade+sub still haunt me; that was my favorite high gain rig I played there

Hm, it's a cool amp but I don't think I'd personally make that trade.

Unless of course you don't really like the Hiwatt and/or you don't own any other high gain heads

Edit: I forgot you were talking about the Mother - I honestly have no idea what that one is like

Right. The ambiguity makes it hard. I probably wouldn’t make it. If I sold the Hiwatt that’s one thing but the Hiwatt is a really great pedal platform. The power section with a paired preamp pedal makes a monster combination. But this is all really good info since I know nothing about the company.
 
I have a mk i Hellhawk I picked up a while ago. Alex described it as his "ultimate plexi" and it definitely has some of that vibe. It also unthinkably loud and powerful (though I do have it loaded with kt88s at the moment and that probably doesn't help). Compared to most plexi-style amps, it has a huge low-end and a bit less kerrang. So agreed on the doom/stoner application as being the most natural one.

I'm not sure I'm 100% in love with it, but it's cool enough that it makes me want to try his other amps. Only thing that's held me back is the super long wait!

Thanks for that info. Any idea on the wait time and cost for the amps?
