Just curious of quality, Have heard its a really nice guitar and super cheap.

Found one on local CL for $250

I own an N6 and an N4/N6 one-off hybrid. I have owned an N4.

Great guitars. Really well built, love the naked wood, great punchy tone and playability. Really dig the Stephen's Extended Cutaway (SEC)

I still have the first two I mentioned, but sold my N4 as the neck was too thin for my taste after time. There's a lot of variability in the neck thickness on N4 from what I understand. The hybrid one I have (N4 neck, N6 body)has a nice chunky one on it. It's made of beautiful (heavy) Paduak wood and sounds AMAZING.

At $250, you're probably looking at the import N2 which doesn't have the extended cutaway (it has standard bolt-on)and also has cheaper woods/electronics.
N4's come with Bill Lawrence L500 in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan in the neck, and the N2's have stock Washburns I believe.
It's highly unlikely that you're being offered an N4 there. N4's usually go for at least $800 . I got a steal on mine here on RT for $600-ish!

If your seller doesn't know, ask for a photo of the neck heel. Look up pics of the SEC and you'll see the obvious difference.

There's also a newer N24 import model out there, but I've never seen or played one.

I had a chance 2 month ago to play a N4 of a friend. We compared it to my Ibanez RG2550Z prestige (with a Suhr aldrich) and it wasnt in the same league as sounding thing. Of course the neck and the cutaway of the N4 is great but it sounded so thin! I didn't like it but maby with another pickup would be better! Well for the price I personnaly think there is so much better on the market but for 250$, the risk isn't big!

well for $250 its the N2 import which I am all set with :)

However I heard they were supposed to have screaming pups.

Not sure what the woods are and honestly now I know the one I saw was the import im not interested in doing the research.

Thanks for the replys on this.

N2 would have a Bill lawrence L500 bridge pickup just like the higher end models.
The cheapest N1's just have washburn no name pickups.

My g.f has an N61 import with a Bill lawrence hum and 2 single coils, Alder body, maple neck and board with a stephens cutaway and buzz feiten system.

The volume pot was crap no big deal to change and the locking tremolo is crappy doesnt stay in tune long other than that it plays and sounds just as good or better than my ESP M2
I have an OFR for it just havent got around to putting it on yet.

If you look on ebay you can get one of the nuno imports with the cutaway for $400

Ive had a few N4's. The last one I had was a bit thin sounding to me, but the build quality and feel were outstanding. The original I had in the old days was beefier sounding and I miss that one.

i love the N4's!!!! great guitars... N2's, not so much

I had an N2 for a while. Wish I still had it. Was a great guitar.
