Anyone remember the Peavey Penta? I remember playing one at namm when they came out and thought is sounded really good. Wondering if anybody has real world experience. TIA
yup 5 way switch, that was it!I remember them. I never played it, but I remember it. Didn't it have a 5 way switch for different mods, or voicings or something?
not sure, had a really organic tone from what i recall. i would guess all tubeI recall it wasn't bad. Was the circuit all tube?
yeah I’m a boost guy so that’s fine by meLooking back it would definitely benefit if it was boosted.
Well, being a Peavey it will sound better in a live mix than say a... IIC+.I got mine for $400 new around 15 years ago. I have 2 of the Penta 4x12's in storage. They're both loaded with Celestion 75's. I got those from GC for $200 each in excellent condition. It's a good amp. Sounds great boosted. Beyond Black likes to hate on it! View attachment 378377
