Anyone using the Boss DD20 gigadelay in the Mod50 FX Loop?

The DD20 CAN be set to +4 line level signals.

My Question is: Can it be set to 100% WET signal?

By looking at it, it appears that if you turn the Effect Level knob all the way clockwise, you'll get just 100% signal. But I'd like to hear from some other people who've actually tried it...

thanks fellas.

i use it, you can run it in the parallel loop, there's actually an output mode 4, which does a dry on one side, and a wet on the other.

i used that in the parallel loop and looping didn't sound very good. if you plan on just running delays it should be fine, but if you want to layer, its better in series.

mind you, i run mine in series with no tone degradation at all

Ah cool... good to know about the outputs. I'm just plain bad at reading manuals sometimes.

I'm not a looper person at all... just delays for me. Thanks for the tip!

Same Here. I run mine in the series loop with the pedal set at +4 and the delays and the looper sound great.

I could not get this pedal wet enough in the parallel loop. Series only for me. Then I replaced it with a TimeFactor in my parallel loop.

I dunno. I just really want to take full advantage of that Parallel loop. And the delay I have now can't be set to 100% wet.

you should be fine.. i just tried mine, everything sounds good in the parallel loop except the looper, and the mod delay.. even the reverse sounds cool

Awesome. Thanks Casey.

I'm returning my Digitech Hardwire to GC tomorrow. Luckily, they're taking it back and giving me store credit, even though its like, 60 days since I purchased it. I gave them the ol' sob story about my amp coming in later than I expected.. ;)

Anyways, hopefully they have a DD20 in stock.

Matt's gonna kill me for not getting a timefactor, but I just don't have $400 to drop right now on that.

I had a dd20 in the mod100 set a +4.

I thought it sounded like poo in the serial and parrallel loop.

You could not set it 100% wet. And when you crank the effects knob on the mod past 75% it boosts noise.

Series mod was just ok for me.

What works really great for me is the Pigtronix echolution. That delay has a very wide sweep on input and output levels and sounds awesome through the parralell loop.

This really was my experience as well. There was just no comparison to the TimeFactor.

What happens when you run something that is NOT 100% wet thru the parallel loop?

Ugh... trying to make this decision before the end of day today. I just called digitech, and the dude CLAIMS that if you put the delay level know full clockwise, it is 100% wet, but he's doublechecking and then emailing me back. (on a side note, Gotta say... so far, in my 3-4 experiences with them, the Digitech Customer Service has been A+.)

If the DD20 sounds that bad in the loop, screw it. I'm keeping the hardwire. Which to me, sounds awesome, but I have yet to try it in the series loop. Call me crazy, but I just want the absolute purest tone possible, and the idea of having 20' send + 20' return of extra cable just for a delay pedal kinda irks me. i feel like the tone has GOTTA suffer some.

mine does not sound bad in the loop at all (except for the looping)

running 40ft of cable with a low-impedance signal, like from a tube buffered fx loop, you shouldn't have any degradation at all

+1. This is not an issue at all. I think having an effect with good A/D and D/a converters is MUCH more of a factor.

Nick, can you honestly say that my TimeFactor is degrading my tone?!?

Ok so my choices are:

A. Keep the Digitech Hardwire, and run it thru the Series Effects Loop

or

B. Return the Hardwire, get a DD20, use only the wet out, and use it in Parallel... and trust Casey. ;)

Decisions, decisions.

Heres a thought: Let your ears decide!

Why dont you run the Digitech through your series loop and listen to it. If it sounds good enough for you, keep it! If it doesnt, try a DD20. If that sounds good keep it. If not, try a TimeFactor and just keep it (you dont even need to try it!)

Yeah, I think instead of being hasty, I'm gonna just wait. Try out the Digitech Hardwire. If I don't like it, get a used DD20, compare side by side, then decide what I'll do...

In the end, PROBABLY sell both and get a timefactor. hahaha.

I can almost guarantee this is exactly what will happen.
