Anyone USE THE KEY FOR INTONATION OF A FLOYD ROSE?

All you have to do is loosen the individual string until it is floppy, move the saddle and then tighten the string back up.
Anytime you are going to be doing a new setup just make sure and leave a couple extra wraps at the headstock tuner, unless of course you have locking tuners. If you don't have locking tuners then just leave the nut clamps on (loose obviously) so that the string wraps don't pop off the tuner. Just common sense.

Worst case it might take a couple adjustments for each "wrong" saddle to get it dead-on, but really it only takes a few minutes per adjustment at most.
If you own three guitars, this method is fine, when you decide to restring sixty-five, you want to speed things up. 😉

I bought a Key, tried it once or twice, and basically threw it in the trash. It's absolutely worthless. I'd rather intonate my guitars the long old fashioned way than try and use that piece of shit. There is another item that's like it that I can't remember the name of, I'd give it a shot but I can wholeheartedly un-recommend the Key.

Also, while you have the strings off to do stuff, check to make sure the proper saddles are in the G and B locations, the saddles do have differing heights.
Yep, fuck those gimmick devices. A Peterson strobe is all I need to intonate.

I need to get a strobe tuner for intonating. The best I've ever had to do it was my Korg DRT-1000 rack tuner, but would still prefer a nice strobe.

You can get the Peterson iStrobosoft iphone app and the little adapter to plug your guitar in for like $35ish total

Shit works great

I've had a Strobo HD for about 4 years. Best tuner for intonation, I've found. The TC Polytune isn't bad for a less expensive option.
