Are these both Chinese v30's?

I have two types of v30's. One is silver basket, says Ipswich England on black and gold label. The white label doesn't say Made in UK or Made in China.

Other is gold basket and only says "Celestion International" on the black/ gold label. The white label specifically says Made in China.

The gold basket is obviously Made in China. The other I suspect is also Made in China but can't confirm.

Both are made in China. One dead giveaway is the "50" on the white sticker.

What he said ^!

The gold is just a newer speaker...I have both pictured above as well.

You don't read too well.

I've got another one to ID.

Any insight on this label? I'm guessing it has to actually say "Made in UK" to be an English speaker...

What color is the glue where the cone meets the magnet?

My U.K. versions all have glue that dries clear.

Chinese dries red.

Not sure if this is always the case though.

So I emailed Celestion. They stated this is in fact a U.K. Made speaker.

I also picked up a few old Made in U.K. V30's yesterday, probably early 90's before they put the white labels on the magnet. They all have red glue. So I don't believe glue color determines the source country.

Interesting. The reason I mentioned the glue is because here's how the ones I have are:

Late 90's UK V30 - clear glue
Pair of Mesa Branded V30's (brand new) - clear glue
V30's in my Orange PPC212 (don't know origin)- red glue
Pair of Hellatone 60's (Chinese V30's) - red glue

The basket colors are all over the place as well.......some gold, some silver, and I had a Marshall SL5 combo that had a V30 with a matte gray basket and a different looking sticker on the back

Yeah I'm not sure why there's red and clear glue.

The v30's I picked up last night are the ones with the date codes etc...stamped on the basket, not on a white label on the magnet. So they're at least 90's, if not older. The date stamps are not very clear though so unknown exactly how old they are. I have 3 like this and all have red glue.

-I read just fine,.... if it isn't a MARSHALL or MESA proprietary CELESTION V-30 why deal with the -(literal)-headache? -ya douche-

-(ts)-its not a Chinese/England " where its made -thing"-
-there's at least 5 different voicings, and that's not even taking into consideration the 8 ohm & 16 ohm voicing differences, the V-30 lineage is well documented, Scott Splawn & others did the testing, if its not in the archives here, check out TGP's archives, seems the dreaded "V-30 Mid Spike" got progressively more pronounced, & moved up in frequency with every new incarnation,
