Are Warehouse speakers REALLY as good as or better than the standard?

The Retro 30’s are 75 watts.

Hahahahah for real?? I’ve had them in that 2x12 for like 5 years and never even knew. My dad got a shitload of them in an Amazon return box and just gave them to me. No shit!

Shit if that’s the case….not as impressive to have that C90 2x12 slay it that hard.

Tried the veteran 30 many years ago as a replacement for a vintage 30 and it was ok for an inexpensive speaker but I didn't really care for it, for the price they charge for them now I'd go with the real thing every time.

I thought the ET65 and veteran 30 also were just ok, but when pushed hard they do seem to kind of fall apart for whatever reason like others have mentioned...... I went back to Celestion and was much happier. You may as well go for the real thing as the price points aren't that far apart.

I've settled on either buying the real deal Celestions, or Mojotone British vintage speakers.

While I thought the ET65 sounded pretty good the actual Celestion Heritage G12-65 just sounds much much much better to my ears.

If you are looking for a really great vintage 30 try the Mesa Boogie V-30 that Celestion makes exclusively for Mesa. One of the best sounding newer vintage 30's I have come across although many say the early vintage 30's are killer I have never played through them.

I got a pair of the WGS Retro 30's X patterned with 2 stock Celestion G12T-75's in my Marshall 1960A 4x12 cab and I got those WGS speakers years ago and they were reasonably priced and didn't take long to break in but I was playing at really loud volume too. They sound pretty good but I got those WGS speakers years ago when I was playing drop tuned to B modern metal music and I play in standard E tuning and have been for some years now. Thinking of changing speakers up in my Marshall 1960A cab at some point.

I played thru them at a rehearsal studio in a 4 x 12 marshall cab and the difference was clear
This facility used them to replace blown cele's in all of their cabs.
The facility tech knew exactly what was in each cab and kept detailed records
they are lame but cheap and serve a purpose in this exact context

I love mine.. I think I have one of all the British voiced WGS speakers. I play at home and home volumes and they sound great.

The early Marshall Vintages (first version of the V30 made) are fantastic; if you like 65s you'll love these.
