That was 1980.. You mean to tell me everything thereafter was shit?? Hmm. Angus was 25 at the time. I guess he should have hug it up..

-was there ever anything remotely even close to the BON SCOTT/AC~DC era??-(search the threads for BACK in BLACK, and the time line of BON SCOTT's death and its release)-

Didn't sound like "he was having a bit of fun" in this article. Sounds like in one fell swoop he was let go, replaced, and his tour luggage thrown on his front door step without even talking to him. I saw Brian's statement.
If I am not mistaken, Angus owns all of the AC/DC rights. I would bet there are lots of clauses in Brian's contract, some of them having to do with publicly announcing anything negative about AC/DC, regardless if true or not. Maybe he doesn't want a legal fight and is just moving on with his life at 68.
Granted, this is the media so who knows...

here is where Jim breuer basically backing down from what he said in your link http://www.billboard.com/articles/colum ... ay-replace

He didn't back down at all. He said he got carried away. What he is saying imo is that he probably should not have said what he said but he never says it's not true.

Truth is that Angus had been trying phone Brian on a few occasions, but he just never heard the phone ring....!

you can read it that way if you want but it seems pretty clear to me that all statements were straight from him not from anything brian said

You have to remember I'm a comedian & a storyteller. I definitely exaggerate and sometimes I get a little carried away!! And this was one of those times

I was not quoting Brian Johnson's words- he was down & out - hoping to finish the tour! It's mostly me venting

certainly sounds like backing down to me

and in case you haven't seen it heres brians statement .... all pretty clear to me

http://ultimateclassicrock.com/ac-dc-br ... statement/

May very likely be true and you can believe it 100 percent whole heartedly if you want, BUT this is Angus's band not Brian's and he could possibly have been told to tell it this way if he wants to continue to get paid...you can't believe everything you read even when it comes from the man himself.
I will continue to be a bit skeptical on the matter until some time has passed.

Hope it's the truth but this is show business   just sayin.

I do hear you. His statement seems very contrived and what are 10 more shows going to do to his hearing at this point. You have to admit it looks pretty fishy. Only a few really know the truth.
Regardless, whatever the truth, is it's a shame he couldn't finish the tour. It sucks that His legacy is now somewhat tarnished. He doesn't deserve it after the years of hard work on tour and commitment. To be replaced by Axl Rose for what may possibly be the last tour of AC/DC sucks. Not how Brian wanted to go out.
