Asking for Photos of Amps on Reverb?

I'm looking at a few vintage Marshall Super Leads on Reverb. All of them turret-board builds. None of the sellers have posted gut shots. All of them have been modified in some way. Either loops put in/removed, replaced caps, replaced sockets, etc. I requested photos to see the condition of these amps, which are 50+ years old, and each seller refused. Is this normal or what? I'm not buying a used car without looking under the hood...

One of the listings even has a blurry, out of focus photo peaking under the lifted chassis, so you can see the vague outline of the board. But seller refuses to actually send a clear photo. Weird.
 
I mean its a pain, and if you're inexperienced you're probably worried about breaking something or electrocuting yourself.

Having said that, seems extremely reasonable to ask for photos of anything thats been modded or is vintage and claims to be untouched (especially if its something with sought after parts, like a specific transformer).

Yep, unfortunately these clowns think anyone will pull the trigger on an amp for 3-5k without letting the buyer see the circuit. This is why many of them have been for sale for months/years.
They will sit and sit....

I've been looking as well, only one out of 6 I looked at provided circuit pics. Lol

Assuming the top vintage gear is usually owned by some lawyer, it’s no surprise they can’t pull the chassis lol

I for one never done it either, and wouldn’t even want to touch this thing of arcane magic you call amplifier, but I think I would have zero problem doing that if need be.
 
This is because the people who own cool gear are all non-musician hobbyist boomers with yachts.
