Asking for Photos of Amps on Reverb?

Yeah that's what I'm saying.

If i'm a relative novice, and I can make it look clean and presentable - why can't amp makers afford to hire novices that make clean, presentable amps?

Because passionate people like you or me or other DIYers do it because we love it. People working actual paying jobs doing this stuff for $7/hr don't.

I wanna see the guts to also see if the FC’s have been changed. Call me strange but I’m not turned on by vintage electrolytics 🙂

That seems like way too skilled of labor to pay someone 7$ an hour, but I guess it makes sense in the current global economic paradigm

It's a little known secret in the industry that people are not well paid. I wouldn't take less than $20/hr+ to wire up amps or build guitars. Very few companies are willing to pay that much or more. Hell, I looked into working at PRS a few years back and the second shift was paying $17/hr. I forget what day shift was, but it wasn't worth it for me to relocate for so little. Even second shift/night shift I wouldn't take so little. Don't care if it's "starting". Many companies can and will pay as little as possible to get people to work on their stuff and it directly effects quality. The rates I get for my work now as a private contractor/consultant are more than triple what I made working for a company.

Someone who is selling vintage amps and pricing it accordingly, should be aware that potential buyers will demand pics. Who is going to drop several thousands for a 40 year old amp without prooper documentation? It`s a plus if your old amp is in good condition and you can ask for the upcharge of vintage gear, but as seller you have to prove this.

Yeah, considering the fact that a decades old Amp is probably finger fucked to death..
The current seller should have pics posted.

I’ve bought amplifiers marked non working (and priced accordingly) without internal circuit pictures on multiple occasions. If someone’s claiming top dollar and prestine collectors prices, then internal pictures are expected and mandatory. If an amp has been modified and it’s a well known person then I don’t necessarily need internal pictures but I do stay far away from epoxied amplifiers.

Totally agree. This is how I roll. I did snag a '72 Marshall 1987 with no gut shots, but I knew the seller was the deceased's mother and she said he'd had it forever and it was priced right. Turned out to be all original. If it'a a JCM2000 DSL for $250, I'll take my chances and deal with whatever shows up.

Can you just stop being weird for once. Weren't you banned at one time for doing this?
Far be it from me to post a picture of an amplifire on an amp forum.
I have no idea what i was doing.
Whole lotta weirdness here. has nothing to do with me Mr 46 & 7/8ths.
At first i thought you needed a schematic or something. Turns out you jess bitchin cause the world of amp sellers aint up to yer standards.
Un-realistic expectations at best and kinda weird.

As for $7 an hour most states cept for the Confederate south is $15+ hr minimum wage.
Thats only $30K annual which is close to the poverty line.
