No it's not... There are things that I dislike and like about both countries. I'm an equal opportunity hater/liker! You just don't seem to like people from other countries pointing out the negatives associated with the US and take it to mean woe is us, everybody hates the US or something and get your hackles up. I don't hate the USA or Australia in the sense that it's black and white - I have a balanced view of the upsides and downsides of both places. Do you think I should see the US with rose coloured glasses as a place with beautiful green fields and nice poppies with a blue sky like Dorothy approaching the Emerald City or something... Clearly it's not fucking Xanadu is it. And Australia as I remember it doesn't exist and is a mess too.

Re: the President not wielding as much power as I think - well only to a point. Yeah sure you can say they are puppets or something jaded but it's hard to kick them out if they go off the rails.

I consider myself British racially because I am British. Legally/politically I'm Australian. Also I don't yearn to be a modern British person because like Australia they have been invaded and have lost their identity - well in London at any rate that's the case. They are a minority in their own capital city. I am British like a Chinaman living in America might call himself a "Chinese American" but he might have been born in the US so his nationality is American and his race is Chinese. I don't really identify with my country because that's a complete fruit salad these days - so not really my culture anymore.

None of what happened in the US or Australia was nice. Having said that, I don't think I should apologise for them - I can't turn the clock back.

These days I'm supposed to wring my hands with some sort white guilt. Stuff that. Doesn't mean I like what happened though.

Yeah, I know. I'm pointing out that if that's the goal it shouldn't really matter what country you're in. But I assume you would prefer to live amongst others who share your view. ... But back to my point, Australia is fairly big, why not divide it up for the disparate groups? Can't there be at least a nice for folks like you?!

Well actually I do wish there was a place that people that want to live in a monocultural society could live because we are given no choice. It'll never happen though and the horse has bolted so it's all academic and a fantasy. I think it's unfair that multiculturalism has been thrust on us with no choice and we just have to like it or lump it. I don't hate other cultures like I don't hate any number of people. That doesn't mean I want to live with them permanently. I'd go on holidays and visit them and vice versa.
