This thing is SICK!!! Less than 1 hour into it and it is giving me sounds that are blowing me away. Using the computer editor makes it a heck of a lot easier to navigate around and I imagine most of the complaints with the tweaking of this thing must have come from guys using the small screen on the unit itself. The parameters on the amp simulators are amazingly flexible such as being able to use a Carol Ann tonestack on a plexi with the negative feedback of a hotrodded whatever.......... you get my drift! I'm stoked!

they'll be coming to take back the juno award any moment.....

I bought a laptop specifically to use with the AXE. It's alot better to tweak now, but it really wasn't that bad without it - and this is coming from someone whose owned may multi-effect rack units and never managed to delve beyond presets before getting frustrated and going back to pedals.

I definitely think computers have driven the revival of rack units, lol. Everyone got sick of those little screens, and menu after menu, and now it is so easy with a PC.

Steve LOL Maybe it didn't work for you in a live setup but I'm telling you this will become my go-to in the studio as soon as I have my own presets set up!. Plus... having firmware 10.0 in there that has the Marsha , the Uberschall and the other new models gives me a really good starting point. The thing is if you know the inner workings of a tube amp, you can get killer sounds from the Ultra in very little time because all the parameters are there to adjust. I haven't even gotten to the effects yet!!

I've really only added reverb to my patches after owning the Ultra for about 3 months. I'll get there eventually. Most of my time has been spent a/bing with my Herbert to convince myself I don't need it anymore.

What power-amp are you using? Can you post up some of your patches... ;)

Damnit... I'm already having enough trouble suppressing Axe FX GAS, and you people just keep talking about it.

version 10 makes everything more realer than version 9 that was more realer than version 8
Untrue. Version 9.0 was most realest. All point versions and upcoming major revisions only make it better sounding, better feeling, and better responding than the amps they model.

Yeah, damn that Cliff for improving his product for free. Let's go to Castle Fractal and make him pay!

WOW! I may just have to buy another now! Maybe a wedgie too!
You should get two. One for amps and one for effects! It'll be better than way.

i have an ultra on the way.what monitors do you guys use with your axe-fx?im looking for some good sounding low dollar monitors..

Great news Steve, I told you that you would love it, especially for your studio!!

Man you guys are killing me with this. I was gonna save about $2000 over the next month or so to get a new amp or one of these. I don't do much home recording so whatever I get will be for gigging. I already have an older Ground Control MIDI controller sitting doing nothing and I suppose I could use my G-System as the controller for the Axe-FX as well. Any body tried that?

Studio or live monitors? Just remember if you don't have good monitors sound will suffer. just like a great amp head with cheap speakers.

Steve you never called me. PM'd
