So I did a little comparison video of my IIC++ amps. Nothing too serious I just thought it would be fun to compare them using the same settings on all amps. I’m not using the same exact tubes though.
Amps going into Torpedo Captor X with a Marshall 1960BV cab sim. Aphex EQF-2 parametric EQ in the loop, same settings for all amps.
Enjoy!

Nice comparison.

It’s funny how everyone hears things differently. I actually get the HRG sounded more open with more note definition. Perhaps more raw compared to the others which sounded a little smoother, the note definition in the chords seemed to kind of blend together more with the DRG vs the HRG, but the DRG may sound bigger. Just my 2 cents. Thanks again.

No way would the DRG be less compressed running 34s. The HRG is good but the K is king. It's just more complex and hard to capture the depth of it. The owner would agree if u ask him, again great comparison and who wouldn't love that chainsaw riff. Well done bro!

Thanks for your opinions guys!

I obviously love them all.
I feel that the HRG is dryer, rawer, has more mids. The simuls sounds fuller and fills the room better. With more “hair” around the notes, and to me sounds better for Metallica style riffing.
And yes, the KDRG is just something special. It’s like the guitar plays itself, if that make sense. The response of the strings is immediate and palm mutes just jump out of the speakers.

But again, it’s really not a fair comparison. I dialed them after the DRG, so you’d want to tweak the others a bit. But fun to see how they sound with the same settings.

Note that all amps have all Sylvania Mesa STR415 6L6 tubes. No EL34 anywhere.

Now I hear that mid shift. Too bad you can't capture the complexity of the Coliseum, maybe one day.

HRG, DRG then the Coli in that order. The coli sounded very different...almost like you changed or moved mics.
Yes, the power section is so different to the other two, so some tweaking would be necessary to get the best out of it. But the point of this test was to use the same settings.

If you had to choose to keep only one, which one would it be?
