BE-100 Deluxe vs PT100-SE

Ok. So the Oder for the BE100 Deluxe has been place. Now we wait. Thank you all for the comments.
I don't think you will be disappointed with it. You should be please with having a good clean channel now and also the BE channel and HBE as well as having a thump/depth mod were you can dial in the exact amount of extra low end you want instead of being fixed like the Splawn.

Did the Splawn start giving you grief again? Sometimes when amps start having issues there is a cascading effect down the line where the next component on the boards exceed their limits and then begin to have intermeittent issues. I chased those gremlins with many a tech with my 79 Marshall before having it completely rebuilt.

Either way I think the flexibility of the BE100 Deluxe will be useful to you. Congrats on the NAD order!:2thumbsup:

Yes, the amp was still having issues. When I was able to run Ruby STRs in it, it sounded great. Three sets of different EL34s that I tried just didn’t sound good. That amp was mushing out and just didn’t sound right. I sold it to a guy who loves how it sounded. And was up front about the issues.

Yes, wise decision. Don't forget that while having the super clean channel, it turns into an amazing Plexi channel. Very fun to play. Boosted, the Plexi channel is awesome too!!!!!

The anticipation begins!!!!!!

My guess is even thought the output transformer tested good....it more than likely was damaged when it was ran without a load that one time. The issues may come and go in the future then one day poof.

Judging by your clips of you Splawn you should be able to dial in a similar if not better tone with your BE100 Deluxe and still have the same feel that you had with the Splawn.:2thumbsup:

PT Sig has this mid hump I could not dial out or to my liking.
Had the deluxe 50...eh.
the 100 deluxe is way more fun to play and gives up the goods at any volume.

You chose wisely my young Jedi.
Whats the wait time from BAD?

I was thinking of revisiting the PT-100 but I keep remembering when I had one. It was so bassy. I couldn't dial enough low-end out, thru a Marshall Vintage Modern 4x12. Also, when I tried recording it it sounded like a grainy POS. Others seem to get great tones however.

Also considering a Friedman BE-100 Deluxe.

I wasn't sure if the BE100 Deluxe had a negative feedback control and it does!:2thumbsup: I think you will enjoy this feature the most, as you can dial the amp in plexi loose(squishy)more NFB or very tight Less NFB. I installed a NFB control on one of my high gain builds and it was crazy even under higher gain how much plexi sag you could dial in with just this control and tighten it up vice versa..........

The BE-100 Deluxe not only grants you complete control of the three pre-amp channels, but the critical power section as well. This astounding flexibility starts on the front panel where you’re able to tune the amp’s overall character with a presence knob, three position switches for frequency and response, as well as a thump knob control. Every player is different in a variety of unique ways. These tools allow you to finely sculpt the overall tone of the power section to YOUR liking - think of it as an EQ for your power amp.

The PT-100 has been on my list for a long time, but I've never seen or heard one in person. Some of Pete's YT clips just slay. But then, well, he makes everything sound good. That BE clip above, however, makes me jones for one of those. Though I so don't need it.
