BE-100 - IS THIS HISS NORMAL?

Another update if anyone is keeping up here, The yahoo I was going to trade with no-showed and come to find out he has a bad habit of doing that (got stuck at my job lol) So now I've been playing it and ran a ISP Decimator in the effects loop and this completely eliminated the noise/hiss. So if anyone has this issue try that for an effective solution.

Also I'm going to send it in to Dave after the first of the year to go thru and for some mods..

Thanks everyone... I know it's been a wild ride but got it worked out I'm trading it back to the guy I got it from for a different BE.

AWESOME man!!!

Definitely doing the SS clean conversion and adding the Thump/Res. It's cool now but want the HBE to be a little more open, aggressive and modern but no or minimal compression. I played a JJ at GC and it felt very compressed so maybe more along the lines of the ButterSlax?

I'd find another tech, if it had the same problem after they worked on it.

You are right on the money.
I had enough of it dude,and bought a soldering
station & Tad bias meter ( the bad ass one ).
I learned from the school of hard knocks, many of these technicians have resentments at guys like Friedman and Wizard.$$$?
-Never fixing anything right and blaming too much gain, then one of the jerks pulls out his amp he built, a generic kit build 18watt Marshall and starts his own f’n parade….

Solution?
ONE email to Dave, he sent brief instructions-
BOOM!, up & kickin’ ass again.

Join the club. I've biased and retubed my own amps for the last 20 years. Have everything I need to do it right, but soldering isn't a strong point for me either. I'd sure save money changing my own pickups!

Well at least you can do that and thats a big deal. I've always wanted to solder and build amps and pedals but I live in a small condo and don't really have a good spot to do anything like that.

Well, you probably know, ....You haven't eliminated the hiss, you've just masked it. Like turning on a car radio so you can't hear the engine knocking.

I'm curious how much and how long it takes.

Good point... it's working for now and I haven't used the right position on the S-Switch.

It's also about $500 to ship it both ways so... I'm debating if I want to spend that. TourSupply here has an amazing tech Randy, so I may make one last effort to have it fixed locally before I pay that much for shipping and whatever else needs to be done.
