I'm telling you man, the peavey will impress you as a practice amp...

Dude, let me tell you too that I am really enjoying playing thru pedals into a 4x12 cab emulator and then into my computer speakers. I'm using a Bogner LA Grange pedal and have used a Keeley Filaments as well. Eventually I'd like to get a Friedman Smallbox pedal. Here is a clip I did with just the Bogner LA Grange into a Radial box then into the computer:

that was really cool....

I never liked my viper. Too thin sounding.

I’m pretty happy with my 6505MH. On the 1W setting it can do bedroom levels just fine. Built in reverb is handy. All tube attitude and sound so you can practice volume rolling or running through songs.

No frills. No BS to setup. Just turn on and go.

The Yamaha mentioned earlier has gotten good praise but ive never jammed on one.
The little Vypyrs with the 10" speaker? Sure. Even the bigger ones maybe. I'm talking about the power tube version Vypyr 60. Different animal.

Looks like he wants something to run through his computer though - so never mind.

Had the power tube 60W version.

Thin sounding and had a bias runaway problem if it wasn’t sitting in AC all the time. Hated that POS.

I just got one of the Katana MK2 heads for a backup at gigs and rehearsals and it does a fine job! Once you work with the tonelab program and make some changes here and there, it is good enough that no one in the audience would even notice.

Sounded pretty good to me for a $300 practice amp my friend. Wonder if the issue you experienced was firmware related. I know those amps had firmware issues, especially in the beginning. Great playing as well

I'm certainly not at your level but this sounded pretty good to me for being cold (meaning I just turned it on for the first time in awhile and it had not warmed up). Sounds thin through laptop speakers but thicker with headphones. Is it 'thicker' than a Kantana or some of this other stuff?....I have no idea.

I love my wizard for bedroom playing, but honestly. My randall RG150h is really cool too. the advantage it has is that it has a line out that can plug into my interface, so i can run it at zero volume, and into a speaker ir and through all my pedals, i should say. It sounds way better than any of the neural plugins i ever played. It isn't cheap. but i am sure there are some other good ss amps that can do that.

The wizard has a line out, but i think it works better at volume and is really great with 4x12 not speaker ir anyway, whereas lineout on randall silences cab. pretty cool.
