It’s an awesome boost… it’s literally like icing on a cake…. And I use it with high gainers…

Do I need another Klone? No. Will I buy this one? Probably. 🤦‍♂️View attachment 366671

I only have one Klon type, which out of these adds the least bass or has the ability to tune how much girth you have? Ryra interests me from what i have read. Would love to see Behringer against the rest demo down the line

Paid 449€ for a new KTR in Europe so that price looks nice at least. 😁

The last time I compared them the Mythical Overdrive or Mjolnir might be the ones with the least bass.

As an update:

I actually put in an order for one of these. Mainly due to the price and controversy surrounding the unit. Came in today. Surprised that this is actually slightly bulkier than the Notaklon. I am not sure why, but I expected the unit to have a smaller footprint than the JHS.

With the way the pedal is designed, it kinda smushes the controls close to one another - unlike the Notaklon, which feels wider and more spacious, though again, it appears to be the same basic size, just a touch less on one side than the Behringer.

As far as how the pedal sounds or how good the buffer is.... Haven't plugged it in yet.

Further update: I was able to play the pedal on low volumes last night and it seems to do something that the Notaklon doesn't quite hit. What is that? I can more easily tell that this is a clean signal that is blended with the gain, like the original. Now, it is easier to hear the separation when gain is very low, which I am unsure if I like or not. It DOES keep that transparent guitar signal.

When this pedal is in the mix on the board and tunerd off, even though it has a buffer, I actually have a slightly reduced top end/more midrange sweetness to the sound. Just a bit.

Unsure why that would be, but my setup does NOT have much excess cable on the baord. Buffers tend to 'limit' the depth of my sound and so I stay away from them.

There are many buffers, like the one in the OCD, where I cannot STAND it when it is on. It just limits the sound and basically applies an EQ for me...pass....

The Behringer doesn't really limit the depth/field of sound. Surprised me. Somehow, this buffer is outperforming many others I have tried, even in nice pedals. Interesting.

Anyway - the tones are very enjoyable in the pedal and they definitely nailed that transparent guiatar sound with warm drive stacked in.

I need to do loud level testing and I would like to try it out directly against the Notaklon of course.

The pedal is better than I wanted to admit so far, but time will tell.

As a gripe - they do not drill/cut a perfect circle around the LED, it has a slight 'key hole' as if it were for a shaft and key, if you are familiar. If not, then it looks like it has a tiny square etched into the side of it instead of a perfect circle around the light.

Weird choice on that but could just be my unit.
