That's not really a good metric because dollars today are almost a third less than they were 5 years ago, let alone 500 years ago, when of course we didn't even use dollars. I'll see if I can dig up an analysis that looked at the wealth of some historical characters.

It's all net anyways. It's likely that he still requires financing for big projects like his giga-plant producing junk cars over in Austin.

Look into the history of Facebook. It was a DARPA project if I recall correctly. Either way it was clearly "selected". Same with Google. Zuckerberg is such an obvious douche. But people just assume that he must be brilliant to be so wealthy and have such a big company. His parents were connected. Same with buffett's for that matter. Look into the history of virtually all of these types and you'll find a history of intricate connections of power. Honestly I feel bad for Zuckerberg. He is an owned man. You don't see him straying too far from his script do you? Elon and the other hand, is he straying, or is it part of his script? I would actually love to see one of these guys go rogue.

One thing that revealed Musk to be a fraud (IMO) is an interview I listened to with his ex-wife when she "longed for the days he was just still a poor college student" (or some similar story) yet we are also told his parents were rich already from the emerald business and the claims from classmates that "he would walk around campus with his pockets full of emeralds" stories were out there. So obviously everything we are told is a narrative with some angle and who knows what or who's behind it. I think, like Zuckerberg, he is an asset of some sort. Probably an intelligence asset. Typically, there is never a straight story with these types. This is why I hate sci fi movies because truth is stranger than fiction.

The list of companies receiving subsidies then is absolutely massive. Nearly all inclusive in fact.

Incidentally, komrad Bernie agrees with you about H1 visas. Complaining about 6 year visas to specialized workers while caucusing with the party that has allowed 9 million illegal aliens to come in over the last 4 years is an interesting strategy.
