Be careful not to inhale too much Deoxite.
I just spray it on everything like a drunk sailor.

Yep. Just shoot it in with the little straw. It evaporates in microseconds. I use the Walmart brand.I saw a recent recommendation to clean amp jacks for intermittent fade issues. What method do you guys use... Spray right in the jack or onto a plug and insert or what? And which deoxit (Or alternatives) ... The 5% spray? Thanks!
Okay we got a few votes for direct spray. Monkey Man does not mess aroundMy M.O. for DeOxit has always been:
Target spray using the included nozzle.
Twist knob / insert-remove jack etc.
Wait a minute.
Respray and move components again.
Optional:
Wait a minute and spray again.
The first spray dissolves and loosens gunk.
The second one clears it away.
Waiting 10-15 minutes seems ridiculous to me. Dries in seconds.
Nope! Its here and gone almost instantly. For you non sprayers, assuming the stuff doesn’t leave a residue or otherwise mess with electronics, what is the concern? Does it leave a residue?

What is the active ingredient in DeOxit?
Formulation: 5% DeoxIT® (active ingredient), 75% odorless mineral spirits (carrier solvent), 20% propel- lant. Formulation contains petroleum naphtha (odorless mineral spirits) solvent, and is briefly flammable (until solvent evaporates within 2-3 minutes).
Deoxit makes a Fader Lube that's good for pots. Dielectric grease is the best but it's pretty tough to get that back in there without removing the pot casing.I’ve read to just spray a small amount for pots and not to jet blast pots because it blows out all the lube. Just a quick spray and work the pot.
