Hello Cats!!

I'm putting together my pedalboard, and honestly, the Columbus is just not working out in the "logistics" side of things... It's a bit too black and white (NO pun intended), maybe it's me, maybe it's the board - I bloody love it for being built like a tank, but I'm having issues...

1st off, this controller is being incorporated onto a pedal board - it's responsible for channel changing, as well as MIDI presets on several of my MIDI based FX (Eventides) as well as programs on my VH4S.
2nd, just because it's a Diezel product, doesn't mean it has to be Diezel - I plan on using my pedal board with my Bogner as well, NOT in MIDI mode, just as an in front/loop pedalboard, with the footswitch still controlling all presets to the Eventides.
3rd, seems to me a lot of up up up, down down down with only a numeric reference to tell me what the hell I'm doing or where I am. A little more info would be ULTRA appreciated, know what I mean?? (like, CH2-RVRB-CHR-DD3, or CH1-DD1-FLNG-LO GAIN) or something along these lines...

Any input??

THANKS!

Ground Control Pro is great IMHO, IA buttons, Preset Buttons, LED Name Display, can get Phantom power from various sources. Durable, roadworthy and works very well for a very good price. Also it is readily available. The Liquid Foot Pro I had was the best overall board I have owned, but it was overkill for me so I sold it, since they are so hard to get a hold of I wish I had kept it.

Good luck in your quest!!

Both good..never tried The Liquid Foot Pro but it seems useful and pretty good looking.

-good midi and usefull looper for stomps.

The best would be the Gordius Big Little Giant, version 2, IMHO.

It has operating and programming features no other controller matches. Especially when used with the Fractal Audio Axe-Fx, but also with other gear.

Its shape may or may not be your thing.

Ya, not fond of the layout

It's hard to beat a ground control pro when you consider price... Could the guys posting the whiz-bang controllers post price also? I paid something like $200 used for my GCP (newer version) and it has been very reliable and easy to program.

+1

I liked the looks of the Mark L as it reminded me of the Liquid Foot, but if I read correctly the price is like $1200. For a best value the GCP is hard to beat unless it just lacks some functionality that you need as a player.

i really like my roland fc-300
it includes 2 control pedals for volume and wah or other effects
Also includes switch relay for switching non-midi amp channels
also cheaper then the gcx ground control and it also work with the gcx switcher
I really dig using the fc-300 on the patch mode. This way, you can send multiple cc and pc messages to controle multiple midi devices.

Liquid Foot Pro.
On a budget, nothing beats the GC Pro.

Some AWESOME input here, thanks everyone... I'll be doing some looking around at the GCP and Liquid as well as a few others included in here. Personally, there's no need for a $1200 foot controller, that's outrageous. I've already got a $650 controller, and thus far, it's not really doing what I wanted it to do with my MIDI based stomps. But it's a whizbang unit with the V fo'shizzle.

Keep on sending any suggestions you might have - awesome resource all of yuz, thanks!!

Yo Zachman - these are awesome set up's, but what I'm trying to figure out is many of these MIDI stomps are labelled with things such as CHORUS, REVERB, ETC. and I'd imagine these are for truly digital FX such as Axe or the like. And I right in assuming this? Because where my pedal board runs into some scenarios is the fact I have analog stomps that need my toes, and my Eventides will need to be preset-programmed with the MIDI F/S as I'll have multiple variations of all 3 being used in conjunction with one another, know what I mean??

More to follow... THANK YOU!!

I like the Ground Control Pro for the price new and used.

I would go for the Liquid.. foot... :D

Let us know if you can get one. Reading the LF forums, unfortunately seems as if the developer has just ceased all contact with potential customers. That's a chance you take with these garage manufacturers. The LFP is such a cool looking piece too....what a shame.

Pure speculation....but it wouldn't suprise me at all if that same guy had involvement with, and ultimately caused the delay in another controller that many have been waiting on.

Well... Yes and no. They can be used w/ devices such as the Axe-Fx, directly, in my case I'm using it to control a Custom Audio Routing Switching System.

Here this will explain it easier:
