Best OD for a Dual Rectifier?

FWIW the key for boosting Rectos is to not run the gain past noonish. EQ is pretty workable depending on where the presence is, not too high. OD808x works great, TS808, etc. I have a Triple Rec coming soon and hope to experiment with a few new boosts I haven't tried on Rectos.

The Gain and Presence were both set at 3pm :dunno:

The dirty tree (and other tc pre inspired boosts) have a ton of clean output on tap, and absolutely will clip any buffered pedals after them, unless you keep the volume not very high. I would run it last, unless you want to run a true bypass looper.

This is good to know. I know jack all about buffers and how they work etc.

My chain was guitar > NS-2 > SD-2 > DT > Bad Monkey > splitter > Boogie \ loop off

Another great booster is the vfe ice scream, but by now I'm sure they are almost impossible to find. My favorite thing about them apart from the hpf/lpf filters is that they have an internal pot that moves the spot at which the tone control sits.

does VFE still make pedals ??? I have a schematic for the Ice Scream
I think he gave away all the schematics a while ago (or sold as a bundle for cheap, I forget), I have a zip folder with schematics of all his pedals.

He does runs of pedals every now and then, I recently bought a vfe dragon new (excellent pedal btw). Had to pre-order, but got to select color, knob, and switch type.

Wonder if I'd piss anyone off running a couple of their circuits .... there's a bunch of their schematics on the Madbean site ....

If anyone looks into their ice scream schematic I would be very curious to know what the range is on the internal tone control trim pot.
Stock setting is 3.2khz which is somewhere in the middle of the range, but I'm not sure if that is right in the middle/noon setting or not.

I have an Ice Scream clone I built. It is one of my favorite boosters. It is like a modded Ibanez Super Tube Screamer.

If you still want the original Recto sound but a bit tighter and easier to play they the Cusack Screamer V2. One of the most transparent Overdrive on the market, also very quiet.

This is with a Fortin Mini 33 in front.

Nice. Thanks for sharing. Yeah, that is another one on the list.

I always told myself I wasn't going to go into the OD rabbit hole and here I am

Someone in the Splawn subforum told me to turn down the settings on the Koko boost too (similar to what ZEN Amps is saying on the Pepers) so I probably should get that back out before I sell it off.

That was fast
