Best option for headphone practice?

My Helix floor and FM9 sound great in headphones, but OP said HX Stomp was overkill for what he's looking for.
Yes, the Helix is a great piece of equipment, I regret selling my HX rack. It had a bug that was driving me crazy, they later fixed it with a firmware update. But on the other hand, I don't regret selling the Axe FXIII.

Umm, overkill. Depends on what one wants to do with it. And Kemper is GREAT on headphones. It has no problem with ATH-M50, I use them besides Yamaha and Beyerdynamic.

Considering an HX Stomp XL and using it for headphones and multi FX with my amp. The HX Stomp would do, but I want the extra footswitches for amp use. I do need a new FX unit.

I like Boss effects; I have an HX-Effects....and I'm seriously considering getting a Boss GX-100 to use as a multi-effects pedal in 4CM with my tube amps.

I've had Boss GT-1000, GT-100, GT-1 in the past.

Happy with my Katana amp at very low volume. I can get my guitar strings even louder than the amp.

Any reasons?

It would be very easy with an iPhone with BiasFx and others at hand.
I'm an iPhone/iPad convert myself. I use Positive Grid JamUp Pro app (fully loaded) into a Fryette Valvulator tube buffer/power supply into the iRig Pro audio interface connected via Thunderbolt audio cable. I send the audio output of my iRig Pro audio interface with 1/8" stereo output to RCA into my Mackie 1402 mixer to a pair of Mackie 824 monitors, a Marshall Bluetooth speaker, or a pair of Sennheiser headphones. I switch the JamUp Pro presets with a Positive Grid Bluetooth BT-4 MIDI controller. Since my current cover band has silent rehearsals with headphones, I use this same setup going into our band's digital mixer and headphones to monitor myself. I also have BiasFX, but haven't spent much time with it yet to know how to use it properly.

If I am playing through one of my pedalboards and my Reverend Goblin 5/15 watt 1x12 combo amp at home, I will use Amazing Slow Downer on my iPhone, send it through iRig Pro audio interface into my Mackie 1402 mixer & 824 monitors. It charges the iPhone and I use the Amazing Slow Downer to change the pitch, slow down solos, or loop them to practice over. Amazing Slow Downer is one of the best apps for personal practice!

I have previously used the Rockman X-100 (sold it to my friend) and the Korg Pandora headphone practice amp which I absolutely love. We have a lot of great gear & choices in this day and age for headphone practice. I wish that I had all of this gear when I was a teenager.

I have the 4 button Mooer Prime S1 and love it. They just came out with the Prime M1 which is essentially a smaller two button version for like $90. I made a couple of YT videos of mine with a JCM800 and SLO presets I made.

There are countless ways to use your existing amp with headphones, getting a good tone with any amount of gain is where it gets tricky if you want a decent tone.
