Agreed, although I thought they were a bit sterile sounding. That's why I got a Vypyr Tube 60. Oh wait. No tubes for this OP.What kind of music are you playing? The Peavey Vypyr line is extremely good for high gain stuff. Cheap too.
The Vanous Evolution is an amazing amp. I was a dealer for them in 2000 or 2001. Recently bought one as I remembered them as being super cool. One of my customers re-recorded every guitar track on his album with the Vanous as it sounded better than his SLO. I always thought the Plexi channel could hang with the Bogner Ecstasy Blue channel. Having just got done playing mine I can say if you see one in the wild for under $1000 grab it. It sounds better than you might think. I like it better than many amps including the Mesa JP2C and a ton of other new amps.Lots of great features and it kills.Always wanted to try a Vanous Evolution amplifier too!
Anyone here ever try or own one?
I hear good things about them, but I'm gonna have to say the original Randall Century 200 and RG's. Those old vids of Dimebag live in the 90's... he always had a killer live tone. The Orange Crush stuff sounds pretty good for a straight forward amp.
Randall RG80ES/RG100ES head, RG100HT rackhead, or RG80112SC combo. Those are the classic amps made in California before US Music Corp bought Randall (1990).So what is the Randall model to try and look out for? I’m a dime fan but I have never messed with the Randall stuff except for a warhead combo and an xl cab….
I played one and thought it was pretty rad actuallyDime 100 watt head . It’s just a cheaper Rg100 . Sounds cool
