having problems with the einstein , it blew the inner fuse sunday evening , the
outer fuse seems to be working fine .but offcourse i tested that to in the inner
fuse as well, loud bang resulting in a shattered fuse .must be the 2 inner 6550
tubes? can diezel advise me further ,haven't had much playing time as ive
only had it just over a week.

Wow.. These are factory tubes? SED 6550's? Have you replaced the fuse(s)?

yep SED 6550'S same story , blown inner fuses, its deff the tubes at fault. all the tubes have barely had any playing time since i bought the einstein new a very short time ago .

Sorry to hear that and hope things get resolved ASAP for you. Seems like these amps are highly sensitive to tube faults/variances, or at least more so than others? Not criticizing in any way, just an observation. I love my Herbert to death! Just wondering about this is all. Seems Diezels aren't very tolerant. This is probably a good thing of course in that they protect themselves from any damage a faulty tube might cause, but still, a curiosity compared to other amps.

Thanks Studiojig  hopeDiezel can help me out here? ive only had the amp just over a week or so ie bare 12 hrs playing time on it .to make matters worse i have a gig this saturday coming and no amp backup

Diezel has & provides some of the best customer service and support I've ever seen so they'll help get things resolved asap for you I'm sure!

Have you put a call into your dealer yet? Maybe they can help directly....not sure where you purchased it from. It is hard for me to help without having it in my hands which is not possible based on your location.

Bought it from Musicstore Germany , im over in the uk northern ireland to be excact .musicstore would prob have me send the einstein back , i would rather not do that if its just a tube problem .there is a diezel dealer in the uk but i believe there very new in this so im really looking for Diezel headquarters help here .

Hi,

I don't understand correctly - did you put in new tubes now and they were blown out as well? Cause I had the same ptoblem with my 6550s, played them for two hours, bang, fuse blown out, smoky smell. It was a bad tube. After I changed them, it worked well.

Greetings
ed

We are all incredibly busy at the moment. It does sound like a tube issue. I was going to see if the place you purchased from may have spares in stock (some places do, others do not) and see if you can get some help.

I bought my VH4 direct from James at Diezel UK, give him a call, not sure what the situation is vis your amp is from Germany, but give him a call anyway.

im thinking he will refer me back to were i bought it from ? but thanks for the suggestion Ailean

yeah, it's the sellers responsibility to sort things out, but give him a call anyway, his mobile is on the UK site, and he's always been helpful to me (but then I did spend £4k with him, if that does buy a little tolerance then I don't know what will :) )

Thats really bad luck mate I hope it gets sorted out ASAP. Now Im worrying about my new VH4 after hearing your story. I hope this is an isolated incident. Good luck in the future.

ok the dealer i bought this from has advised me to get new tubes and fuses ,and test them out .ive spent all day today with selection of tubes 4 to be excact 2 6l6 tung sol and 2 jj tesla el34 tubes .shitload of fuses and no dice ! inner fuse blown everytime outer fuse works fine even if i use the other tubes mentioned above .i can run the amp on the 2 outer tubes but whats the point in that ? the reason i bought the 100 watt einstein was flexibility and headroom ,that ain't happening on 2 tubes .

can someone from diezel please get in contact, as i feel like im pissing against a brick wall here .

You might have a screen grid resistor blown, 6550 probably blew big time. Check the white ceramic resistors next to the power tubes on the board and see if one is burnt looking(big long rectangular suckers). An open screen resistor would blow a fuse everytime.

+1

Check this and report back your findings

Nope looked there totally fine no damage whatsoever , scratches the head and totally gives up

well prob the best amp ive played but looks like it has to go back , ive tried my best but nothing has worked

Why not take it back and have them swap it for a different one? I believe I'd do that before giving up on the amp altogether. I certainly understand your frustrations, but as you said - best amp you've played. There's tons of others out there that are problem free so maybe you just were unfortunate and got the proverbial "dud". Have it swapped out for another one and give that a go.

yes those were originally my intentions , i never said i was looking for another brand amp .the amp will be going back to the distributor and then to Diezel .unfortunately the distributor has no more einstein's in stock or it would have been a simple exchange .so now i will be counting on diezel to send me another einstein , its a great amp and i would never be silly enough to let a one of situation change me over to another different brand amp .

ps disappointed that i havent heard anything from Diezel , i have sent one of the mods a personal email about this 4 days ago .however the distributor Musicstore has done a fine job in helping me with what to do so im pleased i bought the einstein from them .
