yes those were originally my intentions , i never said i was looking for another brand amp .the amp will be going back to the distributor and then to Diezel .unfortunately the distributor has no more einstein's in stock or it would have been a simple exchange .so now i will be counting on diezel to send me another einstein , its a great amp and i would never be silly enough to let a one of situation change me over to another different brand amp .

ps disappointed that i havent heard anything from Diezel , i have sent one of the mods a personal email about this 4 days ago .however the distributor Musicstore has done a fine job in helping me with what to do so im pleased i bought the einstein from them .

True enough, you didn't state that you were giving up and getting a different brand. I stand corrected and apologies for that. Sorry to hear that you'll have to wait for a replacement. As for hearing from Diezel, well, they're a small company that nonetheless provides exceptionally good (and typically/historically fast) service. I see that Duolos has replied to this thread a couple of times but of course he's the head of US operations which doesn't help you. I can't (and wouldn't presume to) speak for any of the other folks, but there's surely a good reason why you've not heard back from someone before now. All that aside, happy to hear that the distributor has been gracious and helpful thus far.

Sad and sorry to hear that you've had problems and hope you get your replacement very soon!

Russ, also keep in mind that Diezel is a REALLY small company.

The people who post here are extremely busy people... I mean Peter D. posts here...where else do you get to talk to the man himself?
Peter S. is WAY busy almost every day of the week - and I'm not talking just monday to friday...
Terry has to reorganize the whole US operations...lot's of work as I imagine, and he still posts here...props btw

So please, don't let the problem you have with your Eini turn you off to the brand. This kinda stuff rarely happens - most of the time it's tube-related, but sometimes it's not, and when this happens Diezel will step up - I've seen it lots of times on this board.

.....I've seen it lots of times on this board.....
No you didn't :gethim: Compared to other brands I think failure rate on this monsters is pretty much tiny nothing :-) So it's not lots :)
Just joking of'course, pal :)

So here and there from time to time you get a subject related to something like this happening and then within a day get a bunch of helpful answers - most often from Peter D. or Terry and our own master mod Duesi, now enjoying the French seacoast I guess.

I've seen only 2 other businesses doing like that - Suhr Guitars, and Ben Sneezby - fine Australian gentlemen doing fine handmade tube mics.

The above excludes my local tech who's looking for various ways to get rid of me (considering re-locating himself to Alaska, or helping me relocate there :) ), 'cause I am all over his head with weird recording studio related stuff ...

ok

musicstore very good indeed arranged the amp to be collected hopefully tomorrow some time .as i've pointed out i like the einstein very much and have no plans to change to another brand or different range of amplifier .

now this was bought in europe through musicstore the mains power current runs at 230 volts. i am now over in the uk northern ireland and our power also runs 240 volts .other amps ive also owned ran comfortably in this range as well so im not thinking this is an issue .

anyways hopefully Diezel can get me up and running again quickly and many thanks to everbody in this thread that replied with there very helpful comments.

Cheers

Russ

Russ,

You heard nothing from us because we heard nothing from Music Store.

The dealer is the first contact for You during waranty issues.

240 volts is not good for the amp so please tell them it should convert
to Your voltage.

Stores send units all over the world and don´t care about voltages.

I´m sorry about the problem and my trust in the 6550.

Best regards,

Peter

Hi Peter

Many Thanks for letting me know , it now seems likely its a mains issue as you have clearly pointed out .the amp went back today and i have notified musicstore about the mains power difference, so hopefully they will send me the proper voltage for my country ie 240 volts .

quick note to say the einstein is a wonderfull amp , i am very picky about my equipment and the einstein delivered very comfortably .

Cheers Peter

Russ
