Just gonna stick my neck out here and, well perhaps it's a question of semantics and descriptors, but WOOLY and 20thA Sheevs DO NOT belong in the same sentence. Or paragraph.

I've said it since day one and nothing has changed since then, this thing cuts like a razor; drops heavy metal tone better than some "heavy metal amps" ever could; has cleans that make Fender wonder who their daddy is; and does crunch, rock, and chuggah aplomb. Small head - maybe it's a size thing. but the fucker rips many other comparable amps to shreds - and doesn't get weird, wooly or lost in the mix!!

Just saying.
:dunno:
This pretty much how mine sounded, listen 1:20 - 2:12. "Woolly' is my best description. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-f3ANIms07U
Hmmmm. If that's wooley than I guess I like wooley amps. Is it the little bit of hair on the tone that you don't like?

I really dig this 20th Shiva tone.

I have to agree..... if that is wooly.... I love wooly!!!!...

I reminds me of the tone Robben Ford had when I saw him at G.I.T.

It's that smooth Dumblish tone that I love. Add some nice tape delay and reverb and it starts to get into EJ territory for me. I love it...

Pretty hard to put it into descriptive words. Woolly meaning soft attack and when you dial up the gain the drive is soft and fuzzy. I comparing to the 100B and ATMA, both are more cutting and have faster attack. Not bagging the Shiva it's just not my thing, that's why Bogner make more than one type of amp.

Hey.... I am not putting your impression of it down... Every one of us has their ideal sound in our heads and that is why there are different models of amps and different amp builders :) Your opinion is as valid as mine.... I respect that.

Totally blown away. This is finding a spot in my stable. This is what I was hoping for. I could
Just grab and go this amp and a cab, with no pedals.

Quick, non warmed up, iPhone clip

So, is the 20th anniv different than the others? Tone wise I mean. I take it the KT88 is the way to go.

Sorry to be a noob. I know nothing of this amp.

They all have that Bogner tone but the 20th Shiva does everything well, without a boost. The Shiva has the best clean channel in my opinion. Very chimey. I was surprised with the amount of gain available, especially with engaging the mode switch. The Helios is a little different as it has more of a raw modded plexi tone. It's not as versatile in my opinion.

Just when I thought my faithful old Shiva was the best thing ever, I have to go and read all about how much ass the 20th kicks on here... It kicks a lot...

Cool, thanks! You guys have piqued my interest on this amp.

I currently have a rev green Uber. I had a rev blue and a TJ but preferred the rev green. It has KT88s in it currently. Sounds massive (to me anyway).

Sounds great....Nice chops!!!

Sounds very similar to my sounds..... I have the KT88's but have ordered some Ruby EL34's BHT's that should be here this week.... going to do the tube swap/resistor snip/desolder.

I love the brown overdrive sound on this amp!!!!

Loving this amp..... :) Swampy/greasy cleans ala Alan Hinds/David Grissom..... And Overdrive like Steve Vai..... Very inspirational to say the least.

I had a Carvin Legacy before the Shiva and the Shiva is the real deal....the high end version of what the Legacy sounded like.....

BTW...ever open up your amp??? It's precision....a work of art...seriously.... I've looked inside many amp and this thing is stunning to look at inside.... Amp porn LOL

Again...nice playing & sound ;)

Just got the shiva 20th !! yes indeed holy fuuuuuuuck!!! its just perfect amp PERIOD!!! kills kills kills.

Shiva was cool, I liked it a lot, but in the end when I a/b'd with the butterlsax, bs was was clearer, tighter, and brought the pain harder, cleaned up better, cleans were a smudge better on shiva than butterlsax, but outside the gain channels, I can get clean and plexi tones with the bs, only cleans with shiva. BS fit that modded Marshall void for me In spades

don't forget, the shiva needs to be pushed as long as the Uberschall's.
I have tried the Friedman BE. sweet amp great tone the base and the gain have to be kranked to get some chunk and nice lead. def not worth the price PERIOD.
I have never tried the butterlsax I'm sure it's a cool amp however at the same time I'm 100000% sure it will be murdered by my Uberschall that Reinhold modded it for me personally !!!!! it's devastating ridiculous !!!!

pretty sure your an idiot for saying something you've never compared or tried.
For the record, everyone I've known that has tried both, including myself.
has greatly preferred the butterlsax in spades.
My butterlsax stack murders any Uberschall out there.
But hey your the guy who just passes judgement with no experience, perfect definition of "Bro knowledge" and what you shouldn't read off the internet, from this guy.

And oh yeah the be must not be worth the cost, thats why Friedman has sold so many. It's not gonna sound like an uber, it's meant to be a rock amp.

If the BE is overpriced than the XTC is even more overpriced. I also own a Butterslax and would say it kills any Uberschall I've tried and that includes the Rev Green. The Butterslax has all the qualities I liked about the Rev Green, but is tighter, clearer, bigger bottom end, yet more cutting and growly. Definitely worth checking out for those who like the Uberschalls. I'd even go as far as saying the Butterslax is the best high gain amp made today that I've tried. The only high gain amps that I would take over it (my Camerons, some modded Marshalls and old Mesas) are amps that either no longer made or cannot be bought in stores.

I have a wife and 2 kids you little piece of shit. I have no problem with gay people, and am
Friends with many, that's not cool. Your such a little cunt, I'd love to see you in person and have you say some shit like that.

You are retarded if you think your little v1 modded uber sounds light years different than any other uber, it's the same circuit with different tweaks, sorry to bust your bubble.

I like my twin jet , it's funny you were searching craigslist to Dallas trying to buy it off me.
No one on this forums likes you anyways. It's funny that people keep trying to come back after getting banned, you little racist prick
