Bogner Ecstasy tones - How different are they from a BE 100

I can get a killer 80's vibe from my 101b though that's def not what I picked it up for. I've never owned a BE100 but did have the SmallBox (stock) FWIW and think both are incredibly versatile amps that can cover a lot of ground, especially when you factor in using a pedal at times for more specific things. I no longer have the Friedman but only because a deal fell into my lap for the Bogner (if I was gonna keep the SB I was going to have it modded).

My 80's type tone clip with the 101b...

At one stage I had a Marsha (BE) and XTC at the same time. They are not that similar as suggested in an earlier post, they sit in a different place in the eq spectrum and together they compliment each other really well without clashing. I sold off the Friedman and kept the XTC because for me the XTC is so much more versatile with the foot switchable boosts structure switching etc.
Actually I have a mix of them here, Marsha rhythm XTC lead > https://www.soundclick.com/html5/v3/pla ... i&newref=1

That AiC vid is mine. I recorded it with my 20th Anniv XTC with 6l6 tubes. It is still one of my very favorite amps ever. It didn't just approximate tones...it defined them. I would easily take another 20th Anniv XTC. IMO, that amp could do it all.
It's a masterpiece. The "Swiss Army" knives of amps worldwide. Big claim, but I'll stand behind it 100%

Great clips BTW, absolutely fkn great clips!!!

Thanks Mo!!

Your video is together with that of AlexK imho the best recording of a Bogner XTC on YT. Remember when you published the video of yourself playing Summer song at a school event. Remember also your son telling to his mates how proud he was of his father. That was REALLY cool! Been a fan since then!

I'm sold on the Ecstasy 20th Anniversary. Now I need to figure out if I get the EL34 or 6l6 version?

Think about it.. none of the 80s guys that have good tone are using bogners live.. no clank and bite.. too smooth and dark with no sting to the notes.
