I still have the 6l6 version and sold the EL34 version of 20th XTC.
The XTC has a lot of mids, EL34 model is too nasal sounding, a bit too stiff...
6l6 is really warmer and more balanced!

I can't say with my Xtc 101b if 6l6 would be better ?
Mine has el34's .
What I can say is my Carvin Legacy 1 has both and hands down the el34's sound way better !!!
No comparison !!!

20th Anniversary XTC is designed with 6l6.
101b are EL34 so I would prefer EL34 in a 101b but in a XTC 20th 6l6 are more balanced for sure
