Love the clip...what were your settings?

Call me crazy, but from the clips I've heard, the XTC sounds best through either Greenbacks or G12H30's. I know Bogner recommends the V30's, but the other speakers just seem to offer so much more.

I just got a new Mic Pre and thought I'd record a short clip :)

Just a few bars of L'il Jack Horny (or at least my version of it anyway!  ) Bogner XTC Red channel with an EBMM Axis and Bogner 4x12. I was trying to get close to Nuno's tone, anyway hope you guys like it, :D

I just cranked the SHIT out of your clips here at work cause I thought no one was here, and they just sound GREAT LOUD!! Little did I know someone was working next door. "Can you turn that down, its a little early and im trying to get some reports done so I can head out early."

"Yeah sure."

*insert door closing noise here"

*insert white noise from speakers on max here*

Puts winamp on repeat and sits back in chair with big smile on face :D

Hope your reports are getting done BITCH!!!

Cheers,

B1, mids at 1, treble and bass at about 2 and Gain at 11 (o'clock). Full power, New, Structure H. I like the G12H's

Cheers! Yeah, I think the Ecstasy is an awesome amp - I still think mine are fantastic, sometimes I prefer the Elmwood sometimes the XTC!

Nice rock tone!
That would fit in nicely with with a band...it's a nice fatter than a Marshall tone.
It's funny when people say that a Carvin Legacy sounds like an XTC...this is way more aggressive and the gain sounds a lot different.

No blanket over the speaker tone here.

Man that sounded awesome Angus!!

That riff sounded beefy and the lead lick you played at the end has some great tone and vibrato!

Thats the best tone i have heard from an XTC, im usually not a fan of Bogners that much but that sounded great!

I really liked this clip and had to bring this thread back after I listened to J.B.'s sound sample of the XTC on the Blue channel with Lynch's Hunter...smokin' XTC clip as well!

check it out here...

Hmmm...I've looked at ribbon mics before but they were always too expensive. Which one did you use?
