Glad you guys like it. Hate to rave about something then no one else thinks the same ?
But, the quiet part is for me huge. Had a VFE Dragon, another great pedal but when I got it dialed in it was 2x as noisy as the ODX, for almost the same tone. The DS1X does the same thing but much less of a mid push.

HA well....I mean look I'm not trying to sell or hype them, it's not even my favorite OD. But it has the ability to bring in huge bass, while still retaining the upper mid cut that you need to get "That" sound - which is exactly what Camerons do. I think the digital factor definitely turns people off - I could care less what's going on inside an amp or pedal - could be little elves mining bitcoin for all I care.
There’s a bunch of pedals nowadays that do as you describe.
Are you referring to the Cameron, maybe the Mesa qualities he borrowed?
There actually was a Cameron overdrive pedal that emerged probably 8 years ago,
OF COURSE the graphics were a spent sharpie with arrows/abbreviations ETC ( Marks instructions)
Anybody play that f’n thing?

Thanks again for the inspiration to acquire unnecessary GAS and purchase this thing LOL!! I'm very happy with it so far. I tried it with the Chupa in all 3 modes and it was too much for it. To be fair, that amp was not designed to take boost as the mods on it already cover the ground we all look for. Every boost I've tried with it, except the TC Spark in clean mode, has just thinned it out and added noise. It smokes on its own but I still was looking to boost the plexi mode when I first purchased the amp.

Going to try it with the Nitro tonight. Another amp that's sort of picky with boosts.

I hear ya; some amps sound worse with a boost ime...any Cameron, VHT D60/120, Wizard MTL, and a few JCM 800 2205s that I've owned. Most 2205s dig boosts but I've had 2 that didn't jive with them. I'm sure there are boosts that can work with those I've owned but none of my pedals worked.
Maybe try an eq pedal? For super cheap the Dano Fish n Chips pedal sounds pretty good and is another that is fairly quiet.

I owned that Cameron pedal for a while. Great sounding overdrive pedal that really did capture/add the ccv vibe to the amp (I own still a ccv). If it weren't for my klon I wouldn't have sold it, but can say the same exact thing about literally 50 or so other pedals I've been through lol (not fair maybe). The thing is the ccv (and his other amps) sound and feel completely different from his modded Marshall's. I would never guess they had anything to do with each other if they didn't have the Cameron label on both. That Cameron pedal is the flavor of the ccv, while the Boss OD1X would be more like his modded Marshall's in flavor, but I've never myself thought of the OD1X that way and had other boost pedals that I'd probably consider more like that than the OD1X, but I can see how some feel it has that vibe
