Hey all,

i just thought it would be interesting to know how many peeps on the forum bought their Diezel without trying the amp, or even hearing one live for that matter..... i bought mine based on reviews/youtube... best decision i ever made! :)

Not me. I was driving 300 km to try a Herbert. A few weeks later I bought one.

I tryed a VH4 years ago. Really Didnt like the amp, it didnt sooth me at all.
After 2/3 years i started gassing for a Herbert. Never tried one. I only had Youtube clips. Hearing Andy Wood shred the hell out off the amp also helped me alot. So i bought the Herbert, not knowing what to expect and i can honestly say that its THE amp ill always keep.

I got all four of my Diezel amps unseen, unplayed, unheard.
I wasn't the least bit worried about it either.
It's a Diezel. what's to worry about?!

The same can be said for any Diezel. Bought the first VH4 and Herbie unseen. On my second VH4 now. Will probably be on my second Herbie before long.

Hi Diezel fans!

I allways play an amp with my band before buying it.

You never know if the amp suits to you before trying this.

I am very pleased with my Schmidt and tried it because of ACYs video.

But in your practiseroom with your band its just another thing.

Nevertheless after 2 times ordering the amp (the first time i give it back) I really believe its the best amp I ever had.

So long Rolf

Just placed an order with Brad for my first VH4...unseen, unplayed, etc. I've only ever heard clips of them in Youtube, etc. I'm not worried...I know it's going to blow my socks off. I've had a solid state Marshal MG for the last 12 years...this is going to be one awesome upgrade :).

I bought my Herbert unseen, great amp but ended up selling it recently.
Just placed my order with Brad for Blueface VH4 yesterday, super excited and once again unseen.

That's awesome...did you get the white case, white knobs, or black, etc.? Have you every played a VH4? I can't wait to actually plug in and hear it for the first time...

Ya, one of the things I miss about tube amps compared to my solid state is the ability to roll the volume down for a clean sound and my boost pedal doesn't do what it should without the tubes. Another quality of tube amps that I can't get with my MG is the "sticky" quality of palm mutes...where you can almost here the fingerprint of your fingers on the strings. It's a very organic sound, if that makes any sense. Palm mutes with my solid state head sound weak and thin. However, the one good thing about a solid state amp is that you can get feedback at very, very low volumes and the amp sounds the same at 1 as it does at 10...you don't have to crank it to drive any tubes. I'm totally curious as to just how many things will be different. I'm also thinking that after the honeymoon is over, I may run both amps via splitter...so I get the benefits of what both amps do well at the same time...

Dude... After you hear the vh4 you're going to throw the marshall in the trash. You're not going to want to taint it's tone perfection with the MG. With Diezel the honeymoon is never over my friend.

I got the black headshell with white knobs. Never played a VH4 or even heard one in person.
I really do think this will be the perfect amp to fill some of the tones I can't get with my current rig.

Had been GASing for a Herbert for about a year after hearing about it from different forums and such.
Then one day I stumbled across a local ad from a guy wanting to get rid of his Herbert Prototype so I jumped on it and traded my Engl Invader 100 + 300$ for it. Awesome deal to be honest and never looked back

Will probably buy a "retail" Herbert in the future to avoid any accidents happening to this baby :D

EDIT: And yes, unseen, somewhatheard, untried...

I purchased ny Einstein and my Herbert without hearing either of them in person.
All I had to go on is YouTube vid.

0 regrets!

I tried an einey in a store. 1 month later I bought one off ebay. Fan for life after that. Bought my vh4 blind. I have full faith to buy any Diezel blind now.
