That's the costs offered to business accounts, which reverb happens to have . If you walk into UPS, expect to pay what you're saying and maybe a $5-20 discount through reverb off of that. So, where's that other $50 going? I would guess most of it is related to covering losses given etsy's business model and earning reports. It seems arbitrary. $37 is very very low IME. Usually whether I was buying or selling the shipping a guitar was 75 to 150 bucks depending on where I brought it too and that's oustde Reverb-Ebay.
Very true. Some people cannot be at home to receive the instrument plus most people who have guitars don't really know anything about set up and restringing. It's a toy-hobby for most or it's for kids, same thing. Dust collectors.
Ah that makes sense. I don't have a business account so I gotta cough up the dobro to ship a guitar....That's the costs offered to business accounts, which reverb happens to have . Exactly..In fact, I'd refuse to sell it to him. Have Reverb block him - He's trouble. Inflate the price so he'll run along. He'll say his "luthier has noticed _________ problems lemme get a $350 refund to have him fix it" then he resells for an additional $350 profit. His "pro luthier's" pics and opinion will be part of his reverb claim against you and you'll get the shaft. His luthier is probably his business partner and they are looking for discounted instruments to stock their new store with.
I'm hypersensitive to buyers, having been burnt multiple times by chiselers and scammers in online deals. "Had play wear not shown in any pictures". "Fret wear was more excessive than described". "Several dings not shown in his ad". "Truss rod isn't operating correctly".
You'd have to hardline him and tell him to ship it back and then he rage spites you by dinging the guitar or something low.
Always assume malicious intent. It’s the rule not the exception. You will get fucked if you don’t protect yourself!
Thinking about all of this though makes me wonder if having some sort of available reverb program where you would send to/from authorized/certified dealer/whathaveyou might actually be a good future consideration for helping to cut down on fraud. Unfortunately, fees.
The second you let your guard down you’re getting fucked! Bend over, grab ankles…You can protect yourself without being paranoid lol.
Reverb charges extra for that. The second you let your guard down you’re getting fucked! Bend over, grab ankles…
I quit with ebay cause zero feedback buyers would be the winning bid, and inevitably never pay. So you're tied up giving them the time to pay per ebays policies, and then you have to relist. You leave bad feedback and you get bad feedback so that does no good. It's messed up. I would try to remove their bids but they can just whip up another account and you have to deal with that. Or multiple zero and low feedback bidders. So you gotta police everything.. It was so bad for a while I became convinced it was other people selling the same/similar products for more money, and did not like my .99 cent or other very low starting bids.Exactly..In fact, I'd refuse to sell it to him.
