This ^^^ macsales has got great pricing on stuff. I had to increase the ram on my mac pro because of the plug-ins I use. I dont think you would have to do that with Logic. (not sure) I would take the new Logic over pro-tools any day (I have pro-tools)

My 2 gigs of ram didn't cut it for Logic when I was using Superior Drummer. Superior alone took over 1 gig of ram once I started adding a bunch of extra drums. Now I got 10 gigs and have no issues running shit tons of plugins.

And that's exactly why I don't use Superior any longer. Steven Slate is less of a RAM hog and I love the way it sounds.

Ok the salesman in the apple store told me it's $200 extra to add 4 gigs of ram and the web site is $600. Can they do that? Or did he just screw up or just trying to get me to jump on it then slip it in there?

He misquoted. 4 gigs should be fine for most stuff. If you find yourself needing more, it's real easy to add it later on.

Yeah I think I'm going to go with the 15" mac pro at $1999 and upgrade to a 320gig 7200 harddrive. Thanks for all the advice. I usaully max everything out on a laptop or PC and then wonder if I really need it. I'm going middle of the road on this one.

I'm sure I will have more questins after I get it. Thanks!
