Our plan is to have Mark do a golden sample of all of his mods...

We will then spec and blueprint the mod and circuit exactly has Mark builds it and offer them for sale in a Metro Kit Marshall head. Once we get past the mountain of building the CCV's this project is on our radar. We want things to be available with no drama and think this is the best way to go to get Marks mods out to the world in a reliable fashion.

Hey Brad,

Obviously, it's way early, but do you have a ball park price range you expect for those?

Thanks!

CCV = his Jose.

Just to open the can of worms a little more Scott (in a good way)

I don't know for sure if the CCV = Jose Mod. The Cameron Jose that I have doesn't sound anything like the two CCV's I have owned in the past. Even with the mod being a Marshall circuit, and the CCV built from the ground up - I don't recall much in similarity, except there's a hell of a lot of micro-switches. I sort of wish I had the CCV here to compare, but based on what I remember, they are nothing alike. Of course, rarely are two of Mark's amps ever alike, anyway.

Then again, I don't know what a real "Jose" from the late Jose was supposed to sound like.

My basement has all those at my disposal. :)

I am under the assumption that some parts/components will be changed for these amps from the Metro kit as does Friedman with his Marsha.

I'm guessing between $2800-$3000 for these Metro Cameron amps, again similar as Dave Friedman's prices...

Yikes. That seems too high to me. All my Cameron's had stock transformers (even the so called crappy Chinese trannies in one) and sounded killer. I think these amps should be $1,800-$2,000.

The kit amps are cool...but I have a hard time paying $3000-$4000 for a modded "kit" amp that cost the modder $1,000. I don't care about additional upgrades like transformers adding to the bottom line either (buying transformers in bulk only cost the modder a few hundred more)... That would still be a 100% mark up. I hope Brad realizes this in the future when putting out "modded" amps. I wont buy a Friedman amp based on those reasons. If they cost $1,800, I would probably has two of them... and so would a lot of other people. Keep in mind that I only paid $2,500 for my CCV... I dont think I would pay $3,500 for one now...
Agreed.

The Sound isn't in the transformer it's in the circuit and layout.... trust me

$2800-3000 is way too much!

$1500-1700 is a Gods plenty for simple souped up Marshall.

You guys are too much, I didn't say anything about price. The forum is sometimes like a game of telephone.

I have no idea at this point, they will be affordable and less than an amp like a CCV or CCM.

My full attention is on CCV right now, the turn key Cameron mod amps is a 2012 thing Rob, Dave and I are shooting for...

we gotta play a little poker Brad!

eventually we'll meet in the middle hopefully, and everybody will be happy!

So when will Ron Wright get his 69 Marshall back that he sent to Mark with $800 for mods? I think Mark takes a while to mod amps as it's been almost 4 years now. He called Ron a few months back to say it was almost done. Since you see or hear from him frequently, perhaps you can find out the status.

I have no idea about that and it is really is none of my business. I licensed the designs from Cameron and utilize his as a designer. He does not answer to me and I have nothing to do with his past business. Whenever I try to help anybody with a past deal they did I get kicked in the nuts. I have rescued several amps so far and I always suffer for my good intentions. I am trying to save the guys who sent in $ long ago for a CCV. I have sympathy for your friend Ron but I would suggest he blow up the phone to Mark and or take a trip like I did and find out WTF. just saying...

I think Brad and Rob deserve a pat on the back for doing what they can to help those shafted by mark c on ccv,s. They can only do so much and can't fix every mistake Cameron has made historically. We are all lucky Brad has taken on this task to get the design info on the Cameron CCV an is working on the Marshall mods. Two words sum it up GOING FORWARD. They can'tgo back and right every one of Mark Cameron's wrongs.

Here is a short compare clip. I won't keep it up on YouTube long though. I hate my playing on here:

Both are good and its a toss up. Think I would grab the mod and go though.....

I have noticed that the small switches on the ccv are the same that Stevie Fryette of VHT/Fryette uses on his amps,Mark C did work at VHT/Fryette.

The chassis and surface layout is identical to an XTC 101B, as are the micro-switches. Mark worked at Bogner too.

I remember Steve Fryette telling me that Mark C. worked at VHT/Fryette first then moved on to Bogner.
