Can you really play a Diezel home?

I've heard a lot of people say that even though Diezels play amazingly well at low volumes, they're not meant to be played at low volumes. Some other say it's not fair to have a rig like that in a room, playing along with the cd player and computer speakers.

What would you diezel users say?

I gig, but I'm one of the guys that like to play his giging rig home too..... I've never been a "use a pod for home jamming, and the real rig for gigs". I get inspired by my rig, so I just can't!

Will it be overkill to have a 180w Herbert in your bedroom?

my 100 watt eini is way too loud to be played at home, during the last 2 weeks my neighbour called me 3 times ! you know, it sounds great even at low volumes but it doesnt make me smile and go crazy until its on 8-9 o`clock, then its a fucking beast , i just LOVE how brutal it gets. its the best fucking amp ive ever played.my girlfriend says that shes really afraid of it. she could feel the power tickling on her nipples
peter is a GENIUS . hes an artist.
the bulbs of my lamps even broke . everything in my room begins to vibrate and shake! its really ment to be played on stage or at rehearsals. i cant wait to get into our reherasal room and blew the fireball from my buddy away ;)

but of course i advise you to buy yourself a diezel, even if you just play it at home, they are the best amps on earth ! but dont worry if your lamps broke and your neighbours get really pissed off ;)

thats how your house will look like if you play a herbert at home

What other choice do you really have?

LOL haha good one man...you summed it all up in that sentence!

I guess......you're right!

I play my VH-4 at home all the time, I've only had one complaint but that was because I had it up a little loud after 12AM. --I don't know if I'd want to try it with a Herbert, though.

I tested all Diezels at bedroom levels before I decided to get the Herbert. I play mainly at home with channel vol on channel 1 at around 11am, and on channels 2 and 3 at around 8:45am, with the master vol at 9 am. No complaints so far, but the room I play in has rugs, etc.
Obviously it sounds better at higher vols, but it's still the sound I was looking for at low vols, so I say yeah, go for it.

I'm inspired by my rig to... So, as says nbarts, we don't have the choice !
What people think about that does not matter !

The Vh-4 play well at low volume. No doubt ! But I found it sounds really better at high levels than in my appartement's music-room... ;)

I think he did... :D ...and it's completely wrong unless you have chartboard walls... ;)

I play quite often at home with my Herbert-Halfstack...especially at 10pm...nobody of my neighbours ever complained

And yes, the Herbert sounds fuc**** good at low volume!!

Those who say " ehh...Halfstack sucks at home, you're an idiot...paying much money for nothing?!!!", never played a Diezel and are not experienced players!

im not on musikerboard, and i am not wrong, diezels arent meant to be played in your fucking home, these things are made to be on stage, you dont buy yourself a porsche to place it in your living room. these amps are made to sound GOOD at least on master vol=8-9. if you say thats wrong then you have no idea about tone !

And I quote myself...

im not on musikerboard, ...

was just a joke at all - it was just funny, i posted exactly the same pic to somebody who was talking about the herbert should be played with clipping power-amp. ;)

I play my VH4 all the time at home on a Marshall 4x12 cabinet at low volume.
Just set the mastervolume really low, to the point where the sound is almost gone.
Works great, but the VH4 sounds best when cranked.

man its so sad , diezels are made to destroy stages not your home.but i think ive said that enough times.
"to the point where the sound is almost gone"        :aww: :(

peter d wheres your statement? support me ;)

As I've said originally, and quoted afterwards again: Yes, the Herbert sounds better with the vol up there, but it sounds extremely awesome around the 8:45 to 9 o'clock mark - and that seems to be the consensus amonst us who do play it at home...like me now. :)

I'm with you. I am inspired by my rig. I tried using the POD but it just sounds awful. I play my VH4 at home all the time with no problems with volume. I have a rack-mounted EQ in the effects loop which has a flat gain control. I typically keep that at -9dB or -12dB and it gives a little bit of extra playroom for the VH4's master volume. Still, it does sound better when you can crank it a bit. But a low volume Diezel sounds phenomenally better than any of the other options (POD, etc.).
