Candlebox still sounding good

Agree. Love Klett’s playing as well as Candlebox. These guys sound good, but they’re not Candlebox. Should be called The Kevin Martin Band as he’s the only original member.
Members Change, it happens. That's a Really Narrow minded view of a Band. Candlebox are Done now any way. The Tour they are doing is their last.

I ended up listening to them and l was like "Oh yeah I remember these dudes. They aren't Matchbox 20." 😝 So, nm about that earlier comment.

What do you think about AI taking over for band members as they fade away? Millenniums later; people still screaming at them to play freedbird?

^ I can see bands like Kiss, Slipknot, Rolling Stones - totally being cool with that.

I really liked the 3rd slbum . This is my favorite. Reminds me of deftone riffs too

Thanks for sharing that. That did have a cool grove. "Can't you sweep this shit to the side....well its so fucking nice to have you hear"

I guess I should say something about Candlebox instead of hijacking. Never really got into them. When they were at their peak, they were kind of taboo among my crowd and peeps would likely get made fun of for mentioning them. I'll have to check them out a little deeper beyond their radio hits. Where should I start?
Don't You is still a killer, killer opening tune. Prob my fav of all their tunes. I played Far Behind in virtually every cover band I've been in since 1995. My playing style is fairly close to Peter Klett's so it was pretty seamless lol.

This song definitely hits

Was he the guitar player on the early albums? Because yes, there were a few tunes where he let it rip and he kicked ass.
Yes he was. I believe he is on the first 3 albums. At the Very Least he is on the first 2 albums when they were actually really popular.

I remember reading an article, in one of the guitar mags, after the first album blew up and the tour was successful. Klett was writing the second album and his quote was something along the lines of: "I spent my entire life writing the songs on our first album. Now I have to do that again in a couple of months."

That made a lot of sense to my college age self back then. Over the years I have also noticed that most of the time, I prefer bands earlier works than later. Not always, but there is something to the early fire that many bands have that gets lost over the first few albums.

Since the other three candles left, maybe “Martinbox”?
