Man, this amp just is IT! I have the EL34 version - Winged C SED EL34s.

I have been using the Bogner 212 cab with Celestion G12-65s. The thing I like about these speakers is that they are like Greenbacks and Bogner says these are the speakers you want if you want sweet tones. Nice thing about them is they really open up the EQ of the amp, you can dial anything in...treble and presence way up and it gets aggressive but not too bright! I also have a cab with V30s if I want that angle, but pairing the V30 with a T75 and a V30 with a G1265 are also great!

This amp is so versatile. Best clean I heard but I do wish I could get a slightly broken up slean if I want it....sometimes too clean for some songs.

Gain channel to me sounds like my dream Marshall, great classic rock tones. Hit the Mode switch and high gain Marshall/modern high gain...here I come. Better than Splawns in my opinion.

Hit the Shift switch and the Mode switch and you have high gain modern all you want.

Lets hear ya guys.

Thanks for the review. Makes me even more GAS for one. Would love to know what you think how the amp fits my needs (read the other thread below). Thanks.

yeah, the clean channel always seems to be awesome on Bogners. I havent heard a shiva annie yet with el34, was it el34 when new or switched over after purchased? Would love to hear some clips of it if u have any.

Mine has sed 6550 black sables and oooooooooooooooooh sweet:)

I'm in the midst of sorting this out.

New 20thA Shiva for a new Axe-II.. Fair game, fair trade. Only difference is? The Shiva will still be awesome in 5 years

BRING IT!!!!

Fantastic amp, it's the closest I've heard to my 100B. The only drawback for me is no gain control on the clean channel.

How does the 20th Shiva compare to the 100B? I was not a fan of the 101Bs I played. I used a friend's 1997 for a while.

I am tempted to eventually get a 20th XTC but I like the focused mids of the Shiva for soloing and that is key for me!

I did nothing but fight every kind of xtc I've owned :(

Got my 20th Anni Shiva on the way!! Should be here this week. It has SED 6550's.

You guys say that you can't get any breakup on the clean channel, but the Bogner instructions say you can get "plexi" type breakup with the boost engaged. So I'm kind of confused?? Guess I'll find out here in a few days.

I am guessing with a pedal like the Wampler Plextortion you could definitely get plexi tones on the clean channel, as far as with no drive boxes, i bet you would have to be deafening loud to get it there. This amp is what I really want, just have to take care of some other stuff before i can purchase. I do think this is the perfect rock/hard rock amp for me. To each their own.

You *can*, but man, you've gotta have the thing CRANKED.

If it's not cranked, the boost on the clean channel is simply a pretty big bump in volume. Kinda quirky...

I've found that the Fulltone Plimsoul's EQ curve and gain sound makes a darn good match for the Shiva, and that's what I use for my "plexi" tones.

Good news.......amp is here!! Bad news, USPS smashed the shit out of it........tubes are mostly all broken. Two sets of power tubes gone. 4 pre's ripped out of the sockets with 45 degree bends in the pins. Nice. I think I'm done with shipping amps.........buying or selling. Too frustrating.

I did throw my old set of GEs in there and at least the amp works fine!! Thanks goodness. Didn't bias it or anything, just played it for a few minutes and they didn't get real hot either.
