Captor X or Ox for better results?

The v2 is great, recommend you grab one before they realize they need to double the price. He’ll you can use it straight into your PC for recording via USB. The attenuator is icing on the cake

How does the attenuator sound on the v2?

Love my captor x.

Stops me from using my real cabs.

Got to know how to tweak things....bit of learning curve.

Also using york and bogren irs mostly.

The Captor X is pretty good and has a lot of bells and whistles to improve the sound. The Two Notes irs are plentiful. But I love the Suhr RL best, one job and does it well.
I also bought the Fractal Audio Reactive Load and liked it the least, sounded like a blanket thrown over the speakers to me.

How does the attenuator sound on the v2?

Really good. It’s not noticeably different than the PS2A I have next to it. It’s good enough to be sold as a standalone attenuator. The only downside is it will always attenuate a bit. With the attenuation knob fully opened up it still knocks it down a bit.

That's pretty high praise if it's comparable to the PS2. Does it have any tone shaping options on the attenuator side?

No, just an attenuation level knob. The reactive load is adjustable though for different impedance curves

Does the Suhr RL have a mobile app of some sort to make adjustments on the fly?

That's one of the interesting things with the Torpedo Captor X that I liked for a live situation.

No, there’s only 1 knob on it for DI level.
The Suhr RL IR has usb to load your own IRs but no app.
